They absolutely need to spend but also cannot breach the limits. They are unfair but double standards apply and if we fall foul again, we will be back in front of another commission.

We are in a vulnerable position in the league so not doing what they can to strengthen the squad would be a very poor and risky move in my opinion - but when you're limited by what they say are short-term constraints, then the type of deals that are possible invariably come down to the last 48 hours of the window.

No point in fretting about it now, I expect we'll get a couple in. If not then they are open to criticism. I'd be dismayed and surprised if they don't do something but at present there is no particular reason to expect them to fail in this regard.

To the point that they would risk relegation with their largest asset? No. There's not a lot of depth to this line of thinking.
ACTUALLY

We arent even close to their largest asset, Toyota.

And I dont think theres currently much difference in their investment in Roma and Everton at this point.

But im just totally being pedantic and agree with your main point.

I worry that we maybe playing second fiddle to Roma. The window will tell us all we need to know…..

There is no way our fans allow us to play second fiddle to Roma (they won’t allow it the other way around either).

I am worried we will be doing and it could turn sour pretty quickly.

I don’t trust any new owners until they give me a reason to, not falling for it again.

As it stands we have had windows after window of not being able to do anything, the first one has arrived where we can and with 12 days to go nothing is happening.

We’ll have a good indication after next season what it’ll be like with owners of two clubs. I wonder if all they’ve dealt with from Roma when compared to the fan base here would cause them to sell Roma and focus all energy on Everton.

It’s clear that Roma are their number one priority and rightly so - better league position, better chance of success etc.

If they think we can avoid relegation without investment, we won’t see anything until the summer.

That’s not going to work though is it that’s not sustainable, fans won’t have it.
