No clear plan to deliver it? Are you high? We've got a new stadium on the waterfront. Did you really think he'd pay for it out of his own pocket, for free?

"Here you go lads, just get me a pint.."

Christ.

Yeah I generally think that was the idea, made out he was loaded, by not having a plan i thought he could have got decent rates for interest payments for the stadium at the beginning when those rates were about. Carry on though, enjoying you're toothless aggression. :)

Sorry lid, it was said in jest, it didn't come across quite like that reading back. Apologies.

The thing is we don’t know how good Thelwell is operating at any level apart from desperation. I think he’s signed some decent players in his time and also got some good fees in but his hands have been constantly tied behind his back.

He also signed Maupay who I thought was a decent signing as an alternative to what we had but was an absolute disaster.
Would we hire him in an openly advertised process?

That should be the critieria, i.e., is he the best person for the job in the world?

By the way, are there also going to be any cafes or restaurants open throughout the week?

This was discussed a while back and opinion was divided. In a club video a month or so ago Colin Chong confirmed the stadium will be open for business every day. Make sense. A closed stadium won't pay for itself. Wouldn't mind a Christmas dinner there next year thinking about it.

Oh yeah, I know. And it’s not just one restaurant…

3 million could be good or bad. If I had to chose between being the restaurant or the landlord, I’d chose the landlord. I do think its too simple to look at inflated stadium prices and the 3 million and think it’s a bad deal, when a lot of those inflated prices are directly related to the 3 million.
Maybe i'm overestimating it? I know there is nothing in the public domain that gives a specific value, but i just expected with this being Aramark's first foray into the UK stadium market, the fact they're a founding partner, and the club announced it as one of the biggest commercials deals they've ever done...I expected it to be bringing in considerably more than what has been suggested.
