That's the point though isn't it. Once a brand new board are appointed the first job will be gap analysis then look at performance of the functions on how the club is run. Then go and implement an improvement strategy then create grow the brand. TLDR sack marketing they are gash and create a new one.
I’m all up for criticising the club when I can, in fact I get off on it but to be fair to marketing it must be really difficult when the club have done absolutely nothing in the lifetimes of the target demographic they’re marketing to and the City they come from is associated with a much more successful club that also has the same name as the bloody city!

The news about boycotting of "woke" Toyota USA is not mine. I only commented that "cultural war" news to add theme-related information. In 2019 Friedkin financed the campaign of Republican Texas governor against imposing gender ideology in the schools which push mutilation and sterilitation of children and because of it far left activists started a smear campaign against him accusing him of transphobia. I followed that chaos. At the time woke were even more dominant than now. There were censorship on twitter against people fighting wokeness. Wokeness was the default, unquestionable mindset everyone were expected to respect and follow. Twitter mods weared "stay woke" T-shirt as elon musk showed. In that context Friedkin was destroyed by the woke machine.

Looooool

I've been critical of the commercial team over the years but in fairness they are tasked with trying to polish a turd. We have been a regional club, no national or European presence, mediocre and struggling.

The stadium naming presents a good opportunity let's hope they take it. Ultimately though it's the product on the pitch and relative success that attracts sponsorship.

I'm curious whether TFG will go down the route of sponsorship deals with Toyota and their other entities. Peripheral sponsorship like that is fine but I hope in time they can entice outside money, we have to grow commercially and not be excessively dependent on TFG.

I'd really like if we were able to attract a decent main shirt sponsor in time as well and leave the 3rd rate gambling companies behind. I think there is some mandate for that to happen anyway but we should be at the forefront of it.

It's the classic negative feedback loop

1. Commercial team and board of directors fail to deliver decent commercial performance
👇
2. Team lacks necessary strength to win things

.... and round and round it goes

But let us be clear. There is gross incompetence in play as well. You had an incompetent self titled "Chairman" Bill Kenwright who was grossly incompetent hiring grossly incompetent minions in the commercial team

None of them know how to run a business properly

Also Kenwright in his vanity and to try and associate himself with signing players - doing so incompetently. Maupay. Dele Alli. etc. All him!

This has been demonstrated by THREE YEARS of relegation battles and a £505 million stadium costing £850 million in the end, that was NOT FULLY FINANCED and they were scratching around for loans. The consequence of which has cost us all > £120 million on top of that £850 million figure in interest in the last four years alone

There is no "in fairness" or "to be fair"

Don't be so gullible

They are chronic. They will remain chronic unless Friedkin Group fundamentally change the club in that way, including the commercial and communications teams. Both of which have no credibility whatsoever

I mean I don’t actually watch them anymore, so I don’t really care enough to be gullible to be fair mate. I’m just here because I get off on other peoples misery.

They’ve been a bunch of chancers my entire lifetime though so I’m sure everything you say is spot on

What is woke?

Just call a spade a spade mate and slate them. No mercy.

Richard Kenyon. Get him gone
David Prentice. Get him gone
Colin Chong. Get him gone
Plus others

I look forward to Friedkin Group rebuilding the company based on meritocracy not Bill Kenwright's jobs for the boys network.

Because it needs competent and credible people that aren't going to mislead the shareholders and the fanbase, continually.

Because they are performing for the company and don't need to

I agree with that to a point, but take the tee-shirts and jackets etc that's for sale in the souvenir shop. It's garbage and has been for years, that's I reason most people don't buy stuff. That's nothing to do with LFC. I'm not even talking about the Castore stuff. The non Castore stuff is like stuff you'd see in TJ Hughes'. That is an easy win for a new regime to sort out

Why are people thinking that Friedkin is gonna get us a Toyota soponsor?

He sells Toyotas, he doesn’t own the company.

Liken it to a fella owning an ice cream van and sponsoring a local youth team with Wall’s ice cream.

Only way it happens is if Friedkin uses his relationship with Toyota, picks up the phone and asks them to get involved. Literally what TFG will have to do with any company on this planet to get sponsorship funds in.

I'm pretty sure his Toyota dealership can sponsor anyone they want, it is its own business.

Mate someone has always got a gripe someone, about something.

It's part of the sickness of the world we live in.

Yeah I’ve never heard of Castore but it sounds like that Cabrini brand that all the chavs wore in the 00’s so I’m sure they absolutely suck. You are right, there’s no reason any “brand” couldn’t make at least a bloody t shirt that sells
