Confirmation then that Colin Chong did mislead fans and shareholders, the stadium was NOT FULLY FINANCED

Despite denials on here to the fact

Its been admitted now

Things change mate.

Moshiri, or a lender would have funded it if nobody else come in.

Even if that wasn't the case - an Everton CEO isn't going to say the stadium we're building won't be finished because there's no finance.

Everton prospective owner Dan Friedkin could inject up to £400million into the club on day one to help pay off the existing lenders if he completes a takeover deal.

That is the view of finance expert Stefan Borson, who exclusively told Football Insider it’s unclear whether that financing will be put in as debt or equity and if the American businessman will charge an interest rate
I wouldn't listen to him if he said its raining outside....and it's lashing down.

It was the case @GrandOldTeam there was £60 million left to finance when the Friedkin Group takeover was announced

Colin Chong has said at least three times "funding is there" to complete when it clearly wasn't

It needed Friedkin Group to come in

You're treating this like projects of this nature have all the cash in a pot, or set aside in a bank account somewhere and large business don't generally operate that way.

Saying the "funding is there" just means that the money can be accessed, whether that through loans, investment etc - not that it has been specifically decided how the best way to find something has been selected at that time.

If I'm selling my house, and it had an extension part built - I could say I'll finish it before selling.

If later, I drop my demands/price - the people buying the house could pay to finish it.

Crap analogy, but negotations happen and things change.

For all we know, Friedkin could have agreed to cover the funding to finish the stadium whether they bought or not. After all, they were an existing lender.

Not convinced we should be so readily calling people liars.

Oh come on now. You don't build a stadium without the means to finish it

Unless of course you're this lot

A "distressed seller" in Moshiri

£505 million now over £850 million

Only just got the finance in place due to incoming new owner, coming in 🤷‍♂️

He's misled people

There was denial on here £60 million was needed

Luckily Friedkin Group have the capital to finish it

Moshiri didn't clearly

The echo article specifically mentions the fit out mate, the construction was fully funded, the fit out happens after handover by LOR.

I said a few times on here lately the club were struggling to fund the fit out that starts in Jan and were actively seeking (unsuccessfully) credit, enter Danny F.

Misleading statements at the very least have been made @GrandOldTeam

Not the first time
