New Everton Stadium Discussion

Not sure that's true if this is anything to go by.

From the start, since Dan Meis met with supporters for the first time, it was quite clear that a large single-tiered stand would be built behind the south goal. In all-seater mode it will hold 13,000 people, however if standing room is allowed, the number could rise to nearly 20,000.

That's if they just change the south stand if they change part of the east and west stand to safe standing too..
61,878 here we come.
That’s dependant completely on the government allowing more than a 1:1 standing ratio.

From what I’ve read elsewhere, they are going to displace the water by dumping in sand, rather than pump the dock dry.

So I guess this is basically the dam, over which the displaced water will drain while stopping more water getting in.
So no worries about what nasties - bombs etc, or any archeological finds that might slow the process down sitting on the bottom - just cover it all with sand = out of sight out of mind...Gone! just like that.
Tres Pragmatic, tres cunning.

First goal at the new stadium, the reverberations of the celebration travelling down to the unexploded ordnance…

… Welcome to Walton Hall Park, the new home of Everton FC.

But in all seriousness, didn’t Everton put out a short line about having investigated the dock floor and they’d discovered nothing terrifying / particularly important? Or have I imagined that?

No you are not mistaken, a survey for any uxb’s etc, was conducted by a specialist company and no problems were detected.
