New Everton Stadium

I would love something like what MEIS have done with Sports City in Doha in terms of design imagine this design on the docks, albeit a scaled down version without being a full sports olympic campus:

That's going to be the most expensive stadium ever built if I remember right, so might be a bit of a stretch.

TheStadiumBusiness Design & Development Summit 2016
kicks off with an optional full day programme
on Merseyside, taking in the stadium makeover of Everton FC’s Goodison Park and the newly-completed
main stand at Liverpool FC’s Anfield. You can join the programme in Manchester (with coach transfers
included) or travel directly to Liverpool to join us. But you must register in advance!

BREAKFAST BRIEFING, BACON BUTTIES & INSIDER TOUR
Whilst debate continues on a future new stadium for Everton FC
(with a potential boost from Liverpool’s bid for Commonwealth
Games 2026), the club has continued to invest in its historic
Goodison Park. The ground dates back to 1892 and is one of the
world’s oldest purpose-built football grounds.
The club’s new owners have stated their intention to put The Toffees
at the top table of Europe’s football elite, whilst preserving
the unique community foundations of this club. This summer’s
close-season sees the completion of a comprehensive overhaul of
hospitality spaces, new LED lighting, rebranding and re-naming of
two stands and eye-catching, vinyl wrappings of the stadium
exterior.

Tour this dramatic stadium makeover and hear how it was
delivered in just weeks! Who knows, we may also get an update on
the club’s future stadium plans?

Not you and all Tommye ffs

People who have concerns over the jump from 40k to 60k, you have to think about corporate will be around 5k and 3-4k max for away fans so essentially it will be 50k seated stadium.

Currently we have sold out season tickets, 31,000 but we are selling out Goodison at home exception Friday night palace.

19,000 fans to find to fill the stadium but fans want to see Koeman's Everton and if we continue our form and add to the squad with more quality plus a brand new spanking Dock stadium, those fans will flood in plus tourism will add to those figures.

Watching Space Excitedly

Palace was a sell out mate and that includes around 1500 in the upper bullens they sent back. So we sold roughly 38500 tickets. Another 11k fans needed not 19k

There's a bit too much Arabian razzmatazz in that design for me, but it's certainly iconic. It also looks nothing like Roma's equally iconic design - and that kind of variety right at the top-end is certainly promising.

I love the renderings MEIS produce, too. Can't wait to see those first pictures of our new ground.

I like the idea of a bowl wrapped in a rectangle with a nod to maritime structures and glazed concourses looking out over the river and Mersey Bay.

Don't get me wrong, Roma's new gaff is nice, but iconic it ain't. It's just another bowl like countless others.

No it isn't. It's a million miles away from a generic bowl.
In what way? I've seen the pics, I've watched the video, it's just a bowl stadium with a snazzy wraparound exterior. Nice, but thoroughly unremarkable. Folk are only even talking about it cos it's another Meis design.
