It's crystal clear that there's no deal yet for BM. There was a rumour, reported in good faith, but it was wrong. I don't believe there's even an option agreement as that would be for a specified price and no price has been agreed - "Peel wants in the region of £30m although negotiations are ongoing."
Moshiri is obviously trying to play SC against BM to achieve the best deal. Hopefully it's a tactic designed to reduce Peel's asking price but after the transfer window who knows? It may well be a means of securing the best deal on SC and being able to say 'we tried our best' to disillusioned fans . I expect we'll know soon enough as it seems that final decision time is approaching.

If indeed the Council has scuppered the BM build on public health grounds I suggest it's rather unfair to lay fault at the feet of Farhad.
The proximity to the sewerage processing plant was always likely to present health concerns and the Council are right to describe these.
Not sure where that leaves EFC now, but the recent makeover of GP (happily) dictates that there is no pressing urgency on the matter.
I suggest we wait and see what the CG bid brings...

But surely such an issue would also scupper a lot of Peels ideas for their Waters scheme?

Yep agreed.

Virtually now guaranteed we will either go down the SBC or Commonwealth Games route which, while a bit disappointing for the dreamers, is a financially prudent decision from a majority owner who has already shown himself to be, generously, fiscally responsible.

If we carry on with the balanced spending I reckon we could be in a new stadium within a decade, maybe 15 years. Pretty good.

No, it is not good enough for many Evertonians who may on that time scale never see the club ina new stadium.
If JA is messing us up, tell him to stick SC where the sun does not shine and start looking at plans for GP.

Perhaps the Council are not comfortable with the public health issues ( re having the stadium and a sewerage plant cheek by jowl). Is that why they are 'enforcing' SC as the new site.?
Have they said anything about it being used for the Commonwealth Games? I am not a big fan of athletics stadia doubling as football grounds but I can understand the financial pragmatics. Have the Council given a firm figure as to how much of the SC development costs that they will put up?
I have to admit that the thought of Liverpool getting the Games is quite exciting and I would definitely be a visitor. Is SC far from the City centre?
Joe Anderson wants us to move to the arse end of Croxteth, so for the council to come up with an excuse like that regarding health issues at BM would play right into his hands.
