New Everton Stadium

It could be they were wary of Everton post KD and DK fiascos as a viable partner/purchaser.

However, I do not trust Peel one bit (and you can throw in Anderson too). I reckon there is a lot of politics and manoeuvring going on here.

There always is with something this big. No doubt some large bags of cash are being left with certain people to grease the wheels. We just need to keep our fingers and toes crossed.

One good thing is that Anderson is in place for another 4 years IIRC. If he is genuine about holding Peel's feet to the fire then they might bite....despite talk of long hauls the wider political economy around EU exit might make itself felt. The EU have been development partners in a lot of Liverpool projects and with that gone it could concentrate minds.

Just how "Everton" would that be!

My hazy understanding of Peel is they've opposed a football stadium solution. I'm not 100% on that, maybe others can chip in who have more knowledge on the issue, but that is the chatter that's seemed to be there over us and them.
Not sure about their present stance, yet I can guarantee you that previously there's been strong interest from Peel in both EFC and a new stadium.

The issue was not however with Peel. Alas, take that as you will.

I am not the supreme pessimist that DaveK is who can find problems. I think there is scope for optimism here and look forward to a positive announcement.

There seemed to be quite a few folk milling round in those photos some of whom we recognise. However I wonder if amongst them there was personnel from Peel.

Well with the numbers in the delegation, the board present, willingly publicised and photographed I am totally confident we will hear confirmation that BM is the location of the new stadium subject to planning permission, prior to the AGM.

Great days.

This is a key point for me: if a deal was not likely, there is no way they would have tipped off the press and allowed themselves to be photographed in this way. it has certainly reassured me and given those who are interested a heads-up as to the positive direction of the club.
