New Everton Stadium

Ok question to all.
What shape do you think it'll be? Not what you want it to be.
In my humble opinion, a 4 sided would look boss no doubt. And if it was built in any other location than the river side, that's what we'd go with.
I just think the planners will go with something that doesn't just scream 'football stadium'.

I think it will be something like this, something basic but one side different for character. Id be delighted if it was something like this...2 tiers all around and one main tier with corporate seats.

I think employing Herzog would have had us all swooning. Their stadiums are the muts nuts.

Some of them, though they don't have many to compare, are utter tosh, just to balance that out.

What i like about Meis, is that they are Multi award winning sports stadia specialists and have people who specialise in that field that work for them.

The professional accolades for Dan Meis alone are too long for me to list. Many of his team are also very well rewarded for their work.

Thing is though, there is no accounting for taste is there.... Everybody will have their own favourite. I just hope it does us justice.

I'll have to check, but I'm sure that's just guidelines. Plus the UEFA rules are likely slightly different to the EPL and FA ones.

Yep, just guidelines. Ones which we've ignored. Build a stadium to every guideline on the off chance it might host a couple of world cup games or a Europa League final, or build the best one you can for what it'll be used for every other week? No brainer.

5 star UEFA certification is what every modern stadia should and will be obtaining.

The star system was phased out a decade ago. But if wikipedia is correct, there's no hard requirement for minimum distance to the pitch for a Category 4 stadium. I have seen FIFA guidelines about this, but I'm almost certain they're just guidelines and will have no impact on a new stadium gaining Category 4 status.

Just as long as there's plenty of space for them to place advertisements around the stadium probably

What would be the point in having a squared off stadium but rounded terraces like that? Seems like it's going out of your way to move the crowd further away from the pitch.

One of the obvious first needs of a stadium designed for football should be terraces running parallel to the pitch and as close as possible.

There's ways and means as others have said, a set of retractable seats for the first x amount of rows seems sensible. Then we can get the top UEFA gigs, just imagine the champions league final being held in the city - The fume from Big Stand FC would be worth it alone.

We also might then be able to pinch the NFL contract from Spurs as they like to have a raised front row due to the number of players staff standing on the side lines. (sorry @RobSpurs) :p
