New Everton Stadium

I can understand with some CL games but City often don't get near to selling out for some of the bigger names either. Something I would expect of them since they have won 2 league titles in recent years so the fanbase is on a high and they're a big club.

True this about City, rich club but not a big club, they annoy me, if we had that ground, that squad and them recent titles the home game tickets would be gold dust.

....we need to ensure there's not enough space between us and the river and get the angle right so we're visible to ships entering the Mersey.

Pretty sure it will be the focal point, and the first thing folk on a cruise liner will see when they approach the estuary.

Would have been ace if it was that bit closer to the currently iconic skyline that everyone knows, but hey, if the biggest problem is that it is a bit too far from the Liver Building to be in photos, I can live with that.

I called into the MIPIM conference in London today to hear Ged Fitzgerald (CEO Liverpool City Council) talk about how the stadium (he costed it at £300 million) could be, in his own words "a massive magnet and anchor point for the regeneration of the wider North Liverpool area and would be a fantastic destination and attraction in its own right. And I say that even as a Liverpool fan."

It was quite a claim, and a key part of a speech designed to attract institutional investors to Liverpool.

Great to see more enthusiasm being generated for the site at BM.
He also told the Echo, “We obviously now wait to see what conversations take place between Everton FC and Peel, the owners of the site, and see whether a deal can be done."
He's another source indicating that a deal for BM is yet to be done.

...the plus is that it will be the first landmark ships see. Exciting.

Agree with this... my legs get claustrophobia in the Main Stand.
Old Trafford and the Hawthorns are not good either.
The Emirates is terrific for leg room !!
Thing is, extra leg room, along with wider seats and wide gangways reduces the density of the support and so lessens the atmosphere. As do other facets of modern design eg having private boxes between the tiers occupied by the ordinary support - this breaks up the continuity of co-ordinated chanting etc. (best to have the boxes at the back of the top tier as at Utd rather than midway as at Arsenal and Wembley for instance).

Yes, briefly. They never even got out of their vehicles.
From the Echo today, "Last Friday’s visit saw a delegation ... tour the two stadium sites."
As I indicated at the time, the idea that Meiss would fly at least 14 hours, round trip, on a plane and then be driven to SC to just sit in the car and look out the window seemed a little far fetched.

RS fans on twitter lol lol gonna be devastated when we get this aren't the :p

Why are Everton building a new stadium on the Liverpool waterfront when they're from Everton and not Liverpool
