New Everton Stadium

Realistically ... you're talking about 3 years + before we have a cat in hells chance of playing in a new stadium.
There are all sorts of hurdles to cross. Planning is the first one, closely coupled with raising the cash, though I suspect the latter is, more or less in place ... caveated with the fact that any contractor will need a damned good spec to work against, otherwise we'll get stiffed for "contract variations".

Planning permission is a public process, it would be nice to think we had "permission in principle" in place, but even that would need to go through due process. fwiw - I'm reasonably sure that the club and the council are 90%+ sure that this will happen. Huge mistakes have been made in the past and I think they've learnt from them. There are no guarantees, but this looks much more of a goer than any of the previous plans.

Yeah all good points. One thing is for sure that this must have been discussed before the summer, well before - so there's no way we spent £28m on Lukaku if it meant there wasn't funds in the pot for the stadium.

Also the mayor is on board from the start - that's good. I know he can't affect planning applications but he wouldn't stick his neck out in front of all Evertonians (80% of his constituents ;) ) and say this if he was then going to be made to look a tit.

Lessons learned hopefully, like you said Woolly. They wouldn't dare do it again...would they?

Also:
Elstone Out.

28 million shouldn't be more than a drop in the ocean with the vast amount of money that should be available for us
