New Everton Stadium

It would be great if it goes ahead. The wife's family live amazingly close to the park...

I won't give their exact location away, but you can walk to the Sainsbury's and Northcote Primary in about 2 minutes.

I wish this had come out with plans already in place and funding and everything, cos I know what things are gonna be like from now on.

I reckon Lille's Place is gonna make us want 1 of them btw. it appears to be très impressive.

“Of course there’s enormous work to do – that again involves fixing a huge financial jigsaw". Excuse already in. Kings dock money was ring fenced so what do you expect here?

Yeah but I am massively underwhelmed by the statement. I at least wanted to hear something like "plans are in place" or "everyone is on board"

Not effing jigsaws.

A year for the build -would have been nice too.

Realistically ... you're talking about 3 years + before we have a cat in hells chance of playing in a new stadium.
There are all sorts of hurdles to cross. Planning is the first one, closely coupled with raising the cash, though I suspect the latter is, more or less in place ... caveated with the fact that any contractor will need a damned good spec to work against, otherwise we'll get stiffed for "contract variations".

Planning permission is a public process, it would be nice to think we had "permission in principle" in place, but even that would need to go through due process. fwiw - I'm reasonably sure that the club and the council are 90%+ sure that this will happen. Huge mistakes have been made in the past and I think they've learnt from them. There are no guarantees, but this looks much more of a goer than any of the previous plans.

Essentially what that statement is saying is that we want to build a stadium but we don't currently have the design's , finances, planning permission etc... to do it.

We're basically just at the preparation stage at the moment.

Knowing Everton and how drawn out the planning process can be in this country we are a long long way of having a new stadium.

I'd wager a bet we have a new manager first and I still expect Martinez to be here for quite a while
