New Everton Stadium

cant see anything being announced this side of christmas for some reason.. if it is to be built at bramlet moore dock, the planning permission could literally take 2-3 years to be suitably passed. i doubt anything would be announced before having outright planning permission, untill that day arrives its all pie in the sky.

i was kind of hoping moshiri had gotten a 12 month headstart on the process, but it really doesnt look like thats the case.

agreed, its just i thought we would be alot further down the line than we seem to be

To be honest I think we might be a long way down the line but dont want to start the formal process until both Everton and Peel know exactly what we are going to do. Since this is going to be in the public domain they know as soon as that happens there will be people looking for reason to object, make a water tight plan, then make the announcement, then we can all sit back and watch the Kopites flap :)

Everything will be dependent on planning permission anyway.

I know nothing about how this has gone for other clubs but surely Everton could announce the purchase of land at the docks (again, subject to PP), together with confirmation of engagement of the architect/designer, a reveal of the proposed design (however provisional) and at least some timeframe by which they could expect to break ground, if PP is granted.

If we have bought the land, surely the AGM marks the optimal time to announce it together with release of the accounts, subject to all the obvious provisos and conditions?

This is what I am expecting at the AGM. If this comes to pass it's about all we can ask for now. Either way, this is going to take another 4-5 years at least I imagine.

Am I wrong?

cant see the club announcing ANYTHING untill full approved planning permission is given.

why tease us with this superb bit of land, only to have it pulled from underneath us due to planning restrictions.

i cant see it being a problem, BUT you never can tell as far as planning consent is concerned. and this is a HUGE develpoment.

The planning laws are such that the public have to be consulted prior to any consent being given, so it will be in the public domain months ( or years) before any consent is given.
