New Everton Stadium

Thought that myself mate, I ended up thinking that we must have kicked SC into touch. In Moshiri's interview with Jim White when he talks about a new stadium he mentions that they had visited all the sites being considered.

But the way he stressed we all knew where we wanted after saying they'd visited both sites doesn't suggest he's sold on wanting to go to SC, a group of people wouldn't visit both sites and all be bowled over by that one. That kind of news is the sort you'd want to break gently to the fans, not build up people's hopes on Sky.

Yeah would think in Moshiri's mind there is only one place that befits a new stadium.

For those complaining about how long things take, this is the timeline for a similar waterside Roma Stadium that Dan Meis is working on:

http://www.stadiodellaroma.com/en/timeline

February 2012
Cushman & Wakefield site analysis reports completed

December 2012
Tor di Valle site selected out of 80+ possible locations

January 2013
Veteran stadium architect, Dan Meis, brought on to lead design
efforts

April 2013
Initial Stadio della Roma and Master Site designs completed

December 2013
Stadio della Roma team presents project vision and scope to
Mayor Marino

March 2014
Public unveiling of the stadium model at Comune di Roma

December 2014
Assemble Capitolina recognized Stadio della Roma as a project of public interest for the City of Rome

April 2015
Geotechnical analysis begins on-site

June 15, 2015
Initial site dossier submission to Rome City Council

April 29, 2016
Stadio della Roma technical designs submitted to CONI

May 30, 2016
Mastersite Supplementary technical dossier submitted to COMUNE

Early 2017
Stadio della Roma to break ground

Mid 2019
Stadio della Roma to be substantially completed

August 2019
Stadio della Roma, Roma Village, the CONVIVIUM Entertainment District and the First Phase of the Business Park to open

If the same timeline is applied to a new Everton stadium at Bramley Moore Dock, this is what it would look like:

September 2016 (when news first broke he was leading the design)
https://www.architectsjournal.co.uk...-work-on-new-everton-stadium/10011980.article
Veteran stadium architect, Dan Meis, brought on to lead design
efforts

Then based on that:

December 2016
Initial Bramley Moore Dock Stadium and Master Site designs completed

August 2017
Bramley Moore Dock Stadium team presents project vision and scope to
Mayor Joe Anderson

November 2017
Public unveiling of the stadium model at Bramley Moore Dock Stadium

July 2018
LCC approves Bramley Moore Dock Stadium as a project of public interest for the City of Liverpool and gives planning permission

November 2018
Geotechnical analysis begins on-site

January 2019
Initial site dossier submission to Liverpool City Council

November 2019
Bramley Moore Dock Stadium technical designs submitted to LCC

December 2019
Mastersite Supplementary technical dossier submitted to LCC

Mid 2020
Bramley Moore Dock Stadium to break ground

Late 2022
Bramley Moore Dock Stadium to be substantially completed

August 2023
Bramley Moore Dock Stadium and surrounding facilities to open

Now obviously this is purely based on the timings planned for the Roma Stadium and how long it is taking them to do things, and the Bramley Moore Dock site may be more and less complicated than the Roma one. The plus is that the actual breaking of ground and building the stadium only takes 2 years. The negative is that it is clearly a long process and we could be looking at 6 and 1/2 years before we actually move into a new stadium. Mayor Anderson said following his July 2016 meeting with Moshiri said we could be in the new stadium in 5 years, which would be August 2021, 2 years ahead of the timeline for how long it is taking Roma to build theirs.

I wouldn't expect it to take anything like as long over here. The geo-technical studies would normally form part of the pre-application process here, running concurrently with the design process.

These things must be completed before the club will be in a position to submit the planning application, which is precisely why we should not expect public announcements until the work has been done.

Given the same people are still on the board whom were responsible for the prior failed ground moves and everyone seems to suffer from short-term memory loss.....let's remind ourselves of of the last journey.

http://www.theblueunion.co.uk/?p=21

The same people are on the board, but those moves ultimately failed because of one reason and one overriding reason only - LACK OF MONEY.

That is not the case this time around. The person steering the ship now does have the funds required.

People seem desperate for it to fail just so they can say I told you so, what a bizarre mentality for a fan to have.

...that is sad, I suspect/hope folk are just impatient. We have had a take over and people understandably want instant impact but the reality is change takes time. Saying that, it's up to the new regime to deliver on and off the pitch, only making things happen will nullify the negativity.
