New Everton Stadium

Ok I'm a bit bored so I thought I'd do the maths to see where we're really at.

You're quite right that the talk sport figures are nonsense as our lowest attendance so far was 38758 (approx 98% full) This was the Friday night game against palace.

From our 9 home games played in the league this season we've averaged 39323 which equates to 99.35% full.

Pretty similar figures to soccerstats that list us as having 99.3% full.

I think the mistake comes from the Spurs game when we got 39,494. It was incorrectly put out there at one stage that we got 34,494 and some sites are still running wit this attendance.

A RS I know still goes on about us not selling out for the opening game of the season....blert.

Looking at West Ham's stadium on tv, please please please nothing like that. The distance between fans and pitch is horrendous!!

West Ham's situation is unique. A more pertinent example would be the distance from the pitch of supporters at The Emirates, a stadium which already looks dated.

New stadia such as Tottenhams are addressing the issue of fan participation much more seriously and I suspect Meis will be doing exactly that on our behalf.

Edit: from Tottenham's official site....

Q: What is the distance of each stand from the pitch? How does this compare with other new stadiums in the UK?

A: The new stadium has been designed to bring fans closer to the pitch that at any other modern stadium in the country. The first row of seats will be less than 8 metres from the touchline all the way around the ground – even closer for our singe-tier ‘home end’ which will be under 6 metres – compared with over 12 metres at the City of Manchester Stadium, over 13 metres at the Emirates Stadium and 18 metres at Wembley National Stadium.

Spurs doing this right shocker.

They have their faults but probably the best run club in the league.

I others I'm. Desperate for some sort of announcement. But I don't mind waiting a bit longer for them to get it right. And they must get this 1 right......it's the digest decision in our clubs history. Get this one correct and a new dawn could finally be apon us.
