New Everton Stadium

Moshiri/Usmanov taking an interest in the SPV to be set up? Possibly institutional investors like pension funds would be takers I'd imagine. I couldn't see LCC creating that as a front for Usmanov).

Yes possibly. However if USmanov wanted to fund it, it would make sense to go down this complex route.

I was just thinking similar to this. For example, I personally have savings in high interest accounts that are paying better interest rates than the interest I'm paying on my mortgage. Therefore when I remortgaged last year I borrowed as much as I possibly could (fixed for the next 2 years), and left my savings where they were, rather than use them to pay capital off my loan. When you scale this up to a billionaire's wealth it makes perfect sense!
See the difference between a billionaire and me and you Smigga is he has many many friends who could lend him substantial funds at whatever rates they decide.

Something about this doesn't sit right with me.

Bottom line is we're one huge step towards a waterfront stadium, something I never thought I'd see in my lifetime. Whose bothered how we pay for it?

No one will care when we're bouncing down from the city centre along the WATERFRONT to a state of the art stadium whilst the Norwegian tourists are getting the 15 to walk along Breck road with their maps out. This will be an unbelievable strategic move for us, we'll be able to brand half the dock, everything will revolve around our stadium, all the transport, all the walkways, even the ferry terminals ffs. For our Wirral blues imagine getting the ferry over packed full of other blues. The possibilities are endless, sky sports covering night games where we're projecting the Everton crest onto the River Mersey, shining spotlight on Everton branded passenger boats coming over the river, the entire dock front lit up in blue, cruise ship passengers watching the entire thing, getting off their ships buying Everton merchandise, taking stadium tours etc. If we see this through it will be a complete game changer.

Historic England, against peel, the council and moshiri/usmanov, unless they make the design hideous then yes it will pass Dave.
The LCC will have more money each year than it would have, so yes it will pass, it's also that well structured to avoid any doubts about that money.
Congestion, 40m for road improvements and ultimately money talks mate.

Never gonnacslare you for worrying about the club mate, your a good blue regardless of arguments we've had, but on this the owner is playing a very very clever game to ensure we come out best

It looks like we are going to be paying back interest to LCC. How do you think we are going to pay back the capital mate, and to who? I have to say I'm a bit alarmed if we are only leasing.

Yeah that's what I see it, it is a vehicle to provide Everton Football Club cheaper access to finance.

Moshiri doesn't need a guarantor in all likelihood, they just offer better rates to long term organizations like councils than individuals over 60.

Based on his net worth he could probably secure funding by putting up some of his other assets as security.

so what we are saying is that having LCC on board is in no way a factor to get around any FFP implications?

its just a good way of securing a cheaper interest rates and making it more viable for us by having the loan over 40 years instead of say 10 years if the mosh was securing it personally
