New Everton Stadium

Some simple sums on gate revenue alone...

Arsenal with 60,000 at say £45 a head is £2,700,00 per game
Manu with 75,000 at say £40 a head is £3,000,000 per game
RS in 2 years with 59,000 at say £40 a head is £2,360,000 per game
EFC with 39,000 at say £36 a head is £1,404,000 per game

If you then factor in main shirt sponsorship deals, we are and will be light years behind these four... never mind City and Chelski who both pull more from gate revenue than us and have massively better sponsorship deals and filthy rich owners.

We need far-sighted, forward looking investment soon in order to build a new stadium or massively redevelop GP to attract more and better sponsors, and more fans to give us any chance of competing... as if we don't attract or find it, we'll need a magician of a coach to be able to get us to compete.

Liverpool plan to make an extra 20 million per year from the new stand.

Really less then a million per game with their upgrade, to be honest I'd prefer to hold out for our new build. £36 for a game is nothing - I think we should really raise that. Have done for a while. Ridiculously low.

That's something, but isn't it weird owners of a club loan money for their own asset pays back to them - imagine Kenwright did it - marcharama.

Depends really, Mike Ashley done it with Newcastle a few years back on the debt. Saves them 9 million a year on interest.

He will get it back when he eventually sells, he is not doing it from the goodness of his heart.

The Devils always in the detail mate, but heaping debt on the club is never a good thing, I'm very suspicious of owners who take money out of the club for themselves - Ashley is a gangster btw, you only have to look at what he's doing up at Newco - the Glasgow end of his operation.

In very simple terms, the extra 15,000 capacity of a redeveloped Analfield, even at just £40 per head would bring in over £11,000,000 over just the regular league season, never mind increases in merchandise sales, home cup and potential European games... and that does not account for increased corporate hospitality revenue, increased commercial activity attracted etc etc, so a potential target gain of circa £20,000,000 a year is certainly achievable. And if they were to have any trophy success, that financial gain would be further magnified by increased demand for tickets which would inevitably give them the license to increase prices again, and glean more from sponsors whose deals will all have "trophy bonuses" written into their contracts.

A very good gangster though. It was old debt that Ashley paid, he paid with an interest free loan. He is hated by the fans, but he has sorted the financial mess out they were in.

Ashley also made massive financial savings at NUFC in a number of areas, he's a very, very smart if wholly unlikeable businessman. If we had someone with his business acumen, we'd be in a much better place than we are now.

You would be happy to pay more than £36 every game for an obstructed view seat in the Lower Bullens ??
