New Everton Stadium

He has absolutely ZERO interest in footballing success
The man is a profit chaser- and its reflected in player acquisition and sales, club development, club sponsorship etc.
To desire Mike Ashley is to lose footballing ambition- not the other way around.
Any success Newcastle experience is circumstantial.

For heavens sake, where have I said or suggested that I want Mike Ashley anywhere near our club ???

All I have suggested is that we need people with his business acumen as he is a very, very smart and successful person.
I personally think he is horrible, but he knows how to make money for Sports Direct and his other business interests, and he has seriously stabilised and improved the finances of NUFC... and ultimately, yes he will benefit personally - what businessman wouldn't expect to benefit from a major investment.

I repeat... I don't like him and don't want him near our club.

I would too. The demand is there with virtually all unobstructed views sold consistently but it's poor offering supporters appalling views and facilities. It's scandalous that nothing has happened at GP since the third rate Park End.
Maybe they could paint the pillars green so they appear invisible?

You know if you ask non- Everton fan about our strenghts as a club...theyll probs say something like @nil satis did.

Luckily majority of toffees share this feeling.

Haters gonna hate.

Alot of opposition fans see Kenwright as a great chairman. He refuses to pay huge fees for players if the money isnt there, he has a old school approach to finances, steady the boat and plan long term. Unfortunately this game is all about here and now, if you fall behind now it could take 10,20,30 years to catch up again. Kenwright has his faults but the one thing he has got right is his choice of Moyes and Martinez. He certainly divides opinion.

You miss the point though.
I would rather have a sheikh mansour who isn't looking for profit. He's looking for football success. Not cos he gives a [Poor language removed] about Manchester City, but because of the prestige to him and his country blah blah blah.
Mike Ashley, for all his business acumen, has absolutely ZERO football interest. He does not care if Newcastle do not win a trophy or qualify for Europe etc.

In terms of providing funds for the squad there really isn't much at all between Ashley and Kenwright. Both are heading up relatively stable clubs and are spending TV money only. Difference is Ashley is still owed over £100m from bailing them out whereas our collective board have not put 1p into the business.

I would suggest that Mike Ashley who attends just about every Newcastle game, home and away, does have some football interest, but won't aimlessly throw money at the club to 'buy' success.
I know a well-connected businessman in Newcastle - who has no particular interest in football - and he tells me that Ashley has worked wonders with the Newcastle finances and turned the club around massively. Ashley certainly alienates himself from some of the rank and file NUFC supporters, but he's also introduced some brilliant ticket campaigns and multi-year season ticket deals that will continue to see that club enjoy near full houses for years to come irrespective of their die-hard, watch anything mentality.
As far as Mansour and MCFC, I'll grant you that Mansour appears not to be looking for profit from the club... and his interests in and around the East Manchester area are huge in terms of re-development etc that should ultimately benefit the local community massively.

No interest in football, so by inference are you suggesting he's out for a quick buck ??
Take a look at the ticket prices for our Dec 28th game at St.James and tell me he has zero interest... these are great prices !!!

Gate receipts count for a small proportion of income these days.

All this means is they'll have an extra 11,000 chumps witnessing them flatter to deceive every other week.

I believe the RS extension will bring them around an extra 20 million a year in revenue, that's on top of the extra 20 million pound they receive in TV revenue.

It leaves us standing with our thumb up our arse! But don't worry, we still have Goodison, a stadium that stopped being fit for purpose about 25 years ago.

That's something, but isn't it weird owners of a club loan money for their own asset pays back to them - imagine Kenwright did it - marcharama.
Not really mate, the company and the owners are different entities, just coz you are the major shareholder in a business liek the RS doesnt mean you can dip into it for a bit of cash when you are strapped and your mrs wants a new cooker. It has to be formalised as a business loan, so that benefits/dividends are set out as are liabilites ie if they go bust, he personally can go on the list of creditors to get a share of what is left. Its a normalish way of introducing money into a firm without taking extra shares on.

19 matches
11,000 seats
£60 a ticket
= £12,540,000

They'd need to charge £95 a ticket to make £20mil, unless they're planning on a full run in all cup competitions.

Their extension will see their capacity grow from 44,000 to 59,000, so 15,000 extra seats, plus add-ons in terms of increased programme sales, hospitality, food and beverage, merchandise... £20 million is achievable especially if they were to have multiple home cup games and/or European games... let's hope they fail to make Europe and all cup games are away from the pit and they get dumped out first round... and the additional 15,000 seats go unsold :-)

Fair enough, I thought it was going up from 48k to 59k.
