New Everton Stadium

So I got my brain thinking about the design of the new stadium & came up with an idea.
We have to fit in with the modern Liverpool Waters scheme but also please WHO to comply with the heritage status. Old v New arrgghhhhhh.

Could Dan Meis not try & use the same type of stone used for the dock walls & incorporate it into the design whilst keeping a modern glass look to fit in to the new Liverpool Waters Scheme?

I'm no architect so don't ask me how it would look but I'm sure the brick lovers on here would at least consider it & the modernists get thier way too. WHO have less reason to object & fitting in cues from Goodison would be easier too.
It could look strong & forward thinking & imposing outside & in with the steep intimate stands we want. Literally a fortress. Not a castle, not tacky like the front of West Ham's old ground though. Helms Deep meets The Shard maybe leaning more to the modern.
Feel free to shoot me down for such a turd of an idea. I'm open to ridicule.

Like the Lucas oil stadium with it's brick design maybe. People diss that stadium but it is very cool, awesome inside too.

Spot on.

What's more, the lack of obstructed views at the new stadium will increase demand even further. My brother, who doesn't have a season ticket, has missed literally scores of matches over the years because he doesn't like to pay good money to sit behind a post.

According to the club, a quarter of the seats at Goodison have some form of obstructed view.

I'm the same. When sizing the new stadium people always forget how many blocked views there are at Goodison that put people off going.

Tbh I hate the Lucas Oil stadium. I know many like it though. Plus Dan would want to do something not done before. Show me a stadium that uses stone & glass.

Doubt Dan is going to to something never seen before, there simply isn't the money involved for that. I believe it also has to fit in with the surrounding area. Either way I'm sure we will get something that meets our needs.

Indianapolis' Lucas Oil Stadium ticks a lot of boxes. Steep stands that are close to the pitch, no vacuous corners, a red-brick facade and the perfect capacity.

Something like that would really put Anfield in the shade.

There is/was a power station on the dock road that looked just like the Oil Stadium ,not my choice but would be easy to get through planning .Dan is the man and he will give us something to be proud of

I know that most people on here take great offence to any suggestion that anything below 60 would be too small, but in reality 60k would be too big.

All these 'sums' being put together about current capacity, adding waiting lists, adding away fans and then adding corporate seats on top don't hold any water.

Away fans are already accounted for in the current c.39k capacity. Its just about realistic to think we could sell 10,000 additional seats to 'home supporters' on a week in - week out basis. Potentially up to 12-13k.

The corporate seats shouldn't be just added on top of the regular seats. While it will attract some new people on corporate invites, a large amount of these corporate seats will be occupied by Everton fans who will be upgrading from regular tickets to corporate seats.

West Ham's new stadium boost is a nonsense. Its not based on regular and sustainable hardcore support, and the result has been huge amounts of empty seats and a crap atmosphere every week. Its only going to get worse too and its not just down to the stadium design either. Its too big for them.

Anyone thinking we'd sell out 60k+ every week is living in dreamland.

Somewhere 55-58,000 would be the ideal number in my opinion.

I disagree. If we are successful there will be extra demand. We can't sell ourselves short. It's better to have too much than not enough. Arsenal regret not building a bigger stadium. I'm sure if they could do it again they would build bigger. If Peel get all the new development work done it will bring a hugh amount of tourists to the area. It's important we get it right first time and that means 60k plus for me.

Has anyone followed up on this yet?

Found it......
