New Everton Stadium

People complained about Kirby. People complain about the state of Goodison. People complain about Walton Hall Park.

I think we all need to realise that there is no perfect magic bullet to our situation. We need to find a happy compromise, or we'll just stay stagnant.

....seems to be the leading option but not sure what is happening (if anything).

It took Bristol City about 4 or 5 years not to get permission to build a stadium on a patch of scrub land near Ashton Gate. They (planning/eco/residents/parking/infrastructure) can take ages to go through all the vested interest groups that might not fancy a ground being built on a park.

So although I reckon a lot of behind the scenes work has been done, (funding, council support), even then, it could be a while.

But that being said, Bristol Council are utterly inept unless you want to build a bus lane or a cycle lane. Or a big water slide in the city centre.

..absolutely, I can imagine that the planning process is extremely beaurocratic and drawn out. On top of that you need funding stream in place ahead of detailed design and development. Long way off even if it's happening I suspect.

Development takes a long time and nothing is certain, and that's for deep-pocketed folk. The front end of the process is projections by the financing team and reports for all the committees and review process. It takes time to see anything "real" happening.

It is of no use to look at the past, however just think where we would be with the kudos of the Kings dock stadium.

Total ineptitude or corruption, IMO a mixture of both. Which seems still to be ongoing.
