Only partially relevant, as it's an American football designed stadium, but Baylor University is getting a lot of praise for its new McLane Stadium, a throwback horseshoe design. Worth a look. It holds 45,000 and is expandable to 55,000 and cost $266m (roughly £166m).

The Camp Nou and the Bernabeu are usually quiet as a morgue. If there's a goal they might clap. Otherwise its silence and lots of tut-tutting.
