Yep. I think our Frank fancies himself as a bit of a local mover and shaker and all round visionary...although he didn't see DK getting called in and knocked back.Wasn't he also up for a shared stadium with the RS?

Dunno. But if it is, he was actually correct. IF we had gone there, it would have benefited the area.
Same song, different singer.
...then back to the workshops again. So we’ll only have a few weeks to wait until we see the designs?!
Probably.Downtown boss Frank McKenna commented: “Football rivalries aside, this is a magnificent initiative for the city of Liverpool. The new Everton stadium will act as a catalyst for further regeneration in an area of the city that has not yet benefitted from Liverpool’s recent renaissance. The infrastructure improvements, new jobs, and new residential and commercial investments will be welcome spin-offs from this exciting scheme."
Is that the same Frank McKenna who was pushing Destination Kirkby as 'a magnificent initiative for the Borough of Knowsley'?
Technology was one of the key principles outlined.Arsenal on verge of announcing an deal with a significant tech company who are installing cameras at the Emirates, which will mean from next season we serve 3D highlights. Only team in league to have the technology.
Wonder if we will have anything like this
The government inspector and Sec of State thought it'd be detrimental in particular to Kirkby with the existing town suffering from not having a rounded retail profile, and insurmountable transportation problems and nuisance to residential living. It would also have impacted negatively on other parts of Knowsley.Probably.
He was right tho , it would have been "a magnificent initiative for the Borough of Knowsley" Of that there is no doubt.
But we all know it would have been disasterous for Everton Football Club.
I expect this will be used to bring in businesses in and around the area. Anyone for a Costa and McDonald's franchises to be inside the stadium?
Dare we hope that images of the proposed new stadium will be in evidence?

Not too sure about that mate. The government inspector and Sec of State thought it'd be detrimental in particular to Kirkby with the existing town suffering from not having a rounded retail profile, and insurmountable transportation problems and nuisance to residential living. Thank God it was called in. That stadium and location would have condemned Everton to a future of total mediocrity whilst handing LFC a gift to completely dominate the city.
BMD may be a whole lot more expensive but we cannot afford to pass up the opportunity.
Anyrate, this presentation thing in a few weeks time......
Thinking out loud really, and maybe a bit prematurely, but having seen a few of these things, all be it on a smaller scale, the very first question asked is always, "Finance sorted?"
So, either Moshiri has attracted outside funding other than LCC, or, he, (or a mate.....) is providing it/guaranteeing it.
Or have I missed something? (Other than the usual "wont happen" shouts)
