New Everton Stadium

It shouldn’t be down to Liverpool fans to give their approval. It should be down a safe design and implemented by the correct personnel on site.

Well of course it shouldnt be their decision. But one can understand that SOS coming out and saying "Ok", makes it a lot easier, politically wise, for the supporters of safe standing to press on with their campaign.

Me? Arsed in the slightest either way.

Knights isn't a red and I don't get why you're so defensive of people questionning the deal. If there's nothing to hide there's nothing to worry about.

It is right this deal gets full scrutiny and to be honest we should welcome these queries as it allows us to make the message more transparant and understood.

That maybe the case and you are correct but Whearty wants to keep us at GP for the local businesses and sod the club staying at GP.

IIRC, when all this kicked off, and the plans for GP/L4 post EFC were announced, wernt the businesses dependent on matchday traffic promised first dibs on sites at BMD?

The number of committees and scrutiny panels Anderson says this has to go through even before PP is applied for is head spinning.

On design Anderson seems to be suggesting a design that be in keeping with the dockland, so a Lucas Oil brickwork type of design?
There's so, so much to be done. Still no whispers on how we are going to make up the funding shortfall.

Still nothing on paper with the council.

All very much still a pipedream.

They should look to Germany and that should be all the reassurance the supporters of safe-standing need, not some self-important fan group who’s members are certainly not experts in stadium design.

Personally, I’m not bothered about safe standing, but I know my Dad and uncles would love it to be reintroduced.

...and interesting to hear Anderson included that in one of his concerns when asked what could stop this stadium build.

In fact, it troubled me to hear Anderson throughout the podcast intimate that the he and the club officers were in persuade mode when it comes to Moshiri and the BMD stadium. That, of course, could all be strategic, but the tone was noteworthy.

As ever, when the "H" word is inferred, one can understand the powers that be being delicate.

Lets be honest, if SOS or any other Liverpool representatives came out strongly against safe standing, the powers that be would have to be seen to take notice.

Right? Wrong? Dunno. But it is true nevertheless.

It’s a very touchy subject, especially in this city, one that can easily cause a lot of trouble.

I don’t think Liverpool will ever reintroduce safe-standing, in light of that, I can’t see us ever doing it either.

Exactly. I hope that's what happens.

But from Liverpool's pov, from what I've seen and read, I've actually been really impressed with how SOS have dealt with this. Seems the vast majority of Liverpool fans want safe standing, but obviously there's a careful job of convincing to be done for others who are more cautious, and the surveys, site visits are all part of it - take things step-by-step, show it works. I don't for a second think Anfield will be one of the first stadiums to implement it if it's made legal, but it seems they're doing all the right things at the moment.

As you said though, I hope whatever conclusion they come to as a club, they're not taken as the final arbiters as to whether it should be made legal nationally. That would be unfair.

FWIW, we found out only this month that as well as future-proofing the south stand at New White Hart Lane for safe standing, they've also future-proofed the away section. I've been half-watching the trials at Celtic, does anyone know if they've for safe standing in the away section or is it just a section of the home support that has it in place?

Kings Dock, it's on......er no it's not.

Kirkby, it's on.......er no it's not.

Stanley Park, it's on.....er no it's not.

Walton Hall Park, it's on....er no it's not

Bramley-Moore, it's on.....
