New Everton Stadium

A £120M p.a. business and set to grow further with more tv cash pouring in. Cant upgrade an existing stadium and they have the begging bowl out for a new one...after 15 years of being in charge and with hundreds of millions flowing through their hands.

How can that be right or tolerated? How much longer can they get away with that?

How isn't this the biggest scandal in English football?

If it was Liverpool or Arsenal, it would be all over the press

Sadly, there's no one in the media prepared to make any of those arguments

The angle in the media will be that we as a fan base are being ungrateful, just like it always is

Sorting the stadium is something that could have been done using the TV money

The board have bottled this and heads need to roll

See my earlier post: what planet do they think we are on?
His record on our commercial revenue since he took over is enough to get him the sack. Barely increased our commercial revenue in that time, part of the failed ground move (destination Kirkby). Oh to have someone like sir terry leahy on the board at everton to provide a vision and be pro-active to raise commercial revenue.

It's about 18 years now since the first Johnson proposal for that idea for a stadium near the M57.

Since then we've had King's Dock, Destination Kirkby, various other proposed sites and now WHP. Still nothing. Still the same excuse. Each proposal has been backed by supporters and each time the board have failed to deliver.

What the board is doing is actually worse than doing nothing because their actions get fans' hopes up and makes it look like the issue is being addressed. Which despite all the bluster and spending of money such as the £4m wasted on Kirkby, it isn't, at least not seriously; i.e with secured funding.

Bill should really have gone after Kings Dock, which was one of the most embarrassing episodes in EFC history. That was the point at which many of us turned against him and his cronies because it was then apparent that he did not and never would have the wherewithal to deliver on the stadium issue and the resultant progress that would have ensued. Instead we have fallen further and further behind and if it wasn't for a certain Mr Moyes would be in the Championship by now.

Bill needs to admit that we won't have a new stadium until there is a buyer willing to invest properly. That means that the club would have to be sold cheaply in order to make it an attractive proposal to potential investors. He should do the honourable thing and sell up, and be remembered for doing something positive for EFC rather than presiding over a legacy of failure on the stadium issue.

He'd still get his money back.

Working on Goodison makes sense in that we don't need 15k more seats or any more boxes at present.

However, a potential buyer may see Goodison as a liability that they will eventually have to replace at their own cost.

So everyone knows I'm true to my word

We're talking about revenue generation.

Not spending it all on players.

Totally the opposite of Leeds United.

I stake my whole rep on this forum on this issue.

Everyone knows my stance on Football Finances.

EFC is screwed if Kenwright doesn't get his act together now. There are no excuses not to with a deal like this. Money that will be available.

@davek

Three months or I'll want him out on "NO CONFIDENCE".

VOTE OF NO CONFIDENCE IN THE BOARD OR KENWRIGHT

Time for them to go.

I said it in February. I meant it.

How much longer are we going to accept this?! It is beyond a joke now with this board, the only way for this club is down under them. It is so unfair that one of England's true giants of the game has been saddled with such small time 'businessmen' they have destroyed Everton and worse still, they are taking away any hope we have.

And unfortunately once again in this thread, as I have been saying in the Board Thread many times, we can all some up The "Board's" plan for our future with one word...

Well call me an eternal optimist or a bloody fool, but I have always believed and will continue to, that we will stay at Goodison. Get rid of this farce of a Board. The new owner(s) will help rebuild/extend Goodison. This miserable chapter of our history will be forgotten.
