New Everton Stadium

Looking through the past couple of pages, I see a lot of posts about how poor we are at marketing the club overseas. One major change I have noticed in Australia in the past few years is that there a lot more kids are now supporting Real, Barca, PSG, Muchich etc rather than just the English teams.
Everton are now not just competing with other English clubs for market share, but also with the European giants.

So, what type of marketing campaign could possibly encourage those young fans to turn away from Ronaldo, Messi, Zlatan etc and support Everton?

I've wondered if it's worth signing a few big named Eastern European players to get the growing Eastern European community in the North West interested in Everton.

I don't think that you can base your signings around targeting certain fan bases although we certainly could make better use of the stars that we have (eg Tim Howard) and fan bases that we have. In fact, I wrote to the club over a year ago about having a World Everton Day. Got a standard "got your email" reply and never heard anything else. Imagine my surprise when I noticed that the Spurs game had been designated as World Everton Supporters Day. Not sure if it was sparked by my original email or someone in the club had the idea already. Either way, I'm happy that it happened and think the club needs to expand it (eg how much good press did we get for the Ricky Wee first visit from Malaysia story)

I love football, i watched the World Cup with a lot of people who knew about most of the national team but that was about it. I asked a LOT of them if they knew what club Howard played for during the World Cup and i would say about 75% of them had literally no idea what Everton even was and another 20% followed the premier league so that wasnt really important.

If keeping Howard was meant to grow our American presence, man, they failed just about as spectacularly as you possibly could.
Are you sure?

America is a big place. Even if 5% of the people know Everton because of Howard or .1% support Everton because of Howard it's still worth it.

That's what Real Madrid do.

Beckham wasn't just signed for his footballing ability. It's a sad reality of football but it is a reality.

As long as the current board is in charge it is.
Agreed, but this board is not Everton. We've got to cling to the hope that this chapter of our history comes to end sooner rather than later and we are able to make some progress, be that re-development of Goodison or a new stadium. What is not an option is to do nothing at all

I don't think this club could run a stall at Greatie market.

Same on the East Coast. Seeing a lot of them around.

We've never fully exploited the presence of Tony Hibbert, there's a massive fishing community out there. Wasted opportunity if you ask me.
Massive opportunity for fish puns wasted.
