New Everton Stadium

Theres time for everything. Dont mind staying Goodison for now. Peeps are over reacting always when some team starts to construct.
Our time will come...and when it comes...People will cry.

Yeah crack on waiting then. Thankfully Mahon, Baxter, Cuff and the other great pivotal names in our history believed in a different, pro-active approach.

That's the point though. What's the point of hanging around!? Let's get it done or at least have a plan of getting something done. There's nothing from that lot, nothing, and whilst we wait others will move past us.

The gap grows each season as Everton idly stand by. I think some people are simply waiting for the big bucks to roll in and sort everything. It won't happen. We need to sort this ourselves. It's like all of us just not working and waiting to win the lottery - it won't happen people. Get off your bums and get a job people, (he says whilst sitting in his pants writing on a thread...)

So where is the 30 mill towards a new stadium now? What they mean is the fans are paying for it but it has not materialised and of course the directors/shareholders do not put their hands in their pockets to help the club.
The fans pay for everything. Who do you think pays the sky subscriptions.

Anyone seen the Spurs plans or is that covered off in another thread? They just make me upset. They've even got their players tweeting about it. Not sure about the whole NFL bit but the plans look ace!

It's shocking, absolutely shocking that nothing is being done our end. If we have any aspirations what-so-ever about playing with the big boys at the top we need a new stadium - fact!

I'm sure it's been menitoned before but I'd gladly keep £10million-£20 million back a season to go toward a new stadium, even if that meant no new players for 4-5 seasons. This should have been our plan seasons ago. SOOOOOOOOOOO SLOW. By the time we get a new stadium everyone else will have one which will make the whole thing pointless!

Fuming.
Exactly. In 10 years we'll be fighting relegation without a new stadium. With a new stadium we might just stay where we are. If we had of moved 10 years ago we would be above both Liverpool and Spurs and in fact we probably would have been bought instead of Man City.

Why fans prefer to challenge for the 7th place trophy than get this sorted is beyond me.

The advertisers and sponsors also contribute, although ultimately it is the consumer that pays for the adverts priced into the products they consume.
But there's probably people who work for those companies that then get the money back. That's the beauty of money. It just keeps moving forcing stuff to get done. :)

Looking at Spurs signing a deal for nfl games at their new stadium in a few years makes me sad as it's another team which we'll fall along way behind.

Kings Dock was the foundation this Club needed to go and get back to where we where in the 80s and they absolutely f*cked it up. You couldn't think of a single negative about it. I genuinely dont want our Club to exist for the sake of it, leave that to the Stoke and all them. But under this regime thats how we are, getting mentioned in the same sentences as Clubs like them when thats probably the biggest insult you could give to this Club. Something needs to happen and soon. We're a bad season away from disappearing altogether IMO.

It's simple. We would be fighting relegation an awful lot sooner than in 10 years time if we were to neglect the playing squad in order to build a new stadium. What increase in revenue can we expect from this super, duper new stadium? Even if everything went to plan, I believe we would only be looking at an extra 10 million per season, an extra 20 million at the absolute maximum.

People will argue that an extra 10 - 20 million pound a year allows you to buy an extra boss player each year, which is correct, but it would have come at the cost of depriving 60 - 100 million pounds worth of investment (they will borrow the rest) from the player recruitment budget over a 2 or 3 year period. This would happen at a time when the difference in prize money between 5th and 15th is considerable. I don't know exactly how much, but it would be no surprise to find out that the difference in prize money between 5th and 15th is greater than the supposed extra 10 million that might be realised in a new stadium.

At the moment, under the current regime, it does not make sense for Everton to waste their time in failing yet another new stadium pipe dream. Even if the project was realised lol , it would seriously harm Everton in the short-term, and the main beneficiaries would be Kenwright and Co. People expecting a new stadium under the current regime are going to be left disappointed because it is not going to happen. The new stadium will eventually come between 2020 -2030 under a new regime, and/or through a Commonwealth Games bid.
