New Everton Stadium

Spurs got too keen and designed the potential for safe standing arrangements on a 1:1 basis, sad, but at least the stadium looks nice.

Everton are taking into consideration the potential for 1:8, whether that comes into fruition before we start building is the next question - I can imagine the legislation will be passed in the next year before we start building, but if not, likelihood is that seats will be put in place then taken out and changed to 1:8 safe standing.
So we will have an abundance of facilities whilst we are still all seating? I like the sound of that - finally be able to have a HT piss without getting stagefright

my mate (Spurs fan) has just left Dubai to head back to London. Already lined up a season ticket for the new stadium. Think I'll be doing the same when our time comes...

By the time that happens mate you could easily look like this...

Looking at that, the seat width is almost, though not quite, the same as the traditional seats behind it and they haven't changed the depth or height of the steps they are mounted on - so to be clear this is a test of such seats retro-fitted to a traditional seating design. How does replacing a row of seats with these increase the ratio of fans in the new configuration? Cant see it working in terms of greatly increasing capacity of retro-fitted all seater stadia. Potentially yes, on a new build such as BMD or Spurs where the steps depth, height etc have that factored in.

So are the likes of Liverpool, Utd, Arsenal who have invested big in terms of adding capacity in recent years going to be in favour of the likes of ourselves catching up with them in capacity with likely better acoustics/atmosphere. It would be a much bigger job financially for them to retro fit. Not seeing it.

Why should it matter what they think? I thought it was the government that had to change their mind on this?
