New Everton Stadium

Just had a look at the renderings and I am personally impressed.
In truth it’s a cleaned up version of what has already been presented and contains no earth shattering revelations.
As someone who still misses the terraces the provision of generous safe standing areas ameliorates the disappointment of lower capacity.
All in all, I am looking forward to seeing it built and attending matches there.

Something to note is how much they would have to change to make the safe standing area compliant with regs. You would think why don't they just make it ready in the first place but you can see how dramatically it alters the shape to get it to down to 25 degrees. Doesn't look great.

So it looks like over time they are hoping that this changes allowing the 32 degrees that they show in the middle diagram. Therefore we can expect it to look like the all seater variant to start with.
The home end is significantly steeper than the Spurs one, which tbh matters every bit as much as capacity of the stand. It's actually steeper and closer to the pitch than the "yellow wall" too

It'll only be significantly steeper if you don't want safe standing (or if the regs around standing change before you've finalised the design which seems unlikely). The earlier seating plans for the home stand weren't realistic.

Our stand is divided into three sections, which get steeper as you go up. This is deliberate as the regs say you can't have standing at the steepest angle allowed for seating (25 degrees max for standing areas, 35 degrees max for seating). Today's pic of your home stand with safe standing in place also - inevitably - concedes to this regulation (see image on the right), but instead of a gradual increase in gradient like at NWHL it goes up very suddenly halfway.

This kind of solution was hinted at in the slides from Meis' workshop and I mentioned a few times in this thread I thought the stand would have be redesigned to make the lower section shallower if safe standing was wanted. Looks like that's what'll happen.

More thoughts on this document. The TV screens are massive. Not sure why we would want part of the dock wall popping up at one end? The one outside picture we have shows an interior bowl that doesn't match up with the rest of the pictures.

So the team attacks the South Stand, its an exciting match the fans are standing up pre safe standing, fans are stood at the back of the stand at 33 degrees but theyre only allowed to push for safety in standing for the shallower part. Seems backwards to me.

Looks great, and all this soulless bowl nonsense must stop. It's the 50,000 arl arses inside that make an atmosphere, not concrete and steel. It will give everyone a comfortable experience with a good view, whether that's a good thing with the tosh we regularly get served up, who knows.
I think "soulless bowl" is just the default description given by anyone who doesn't like the look of it. I wonder what a bowl with a soul looks like?

There is a slight Fisher price feel to it, but hopefully the final designs will have a little bit more wow factor. The capacity is an issue though and in 5 years it still will be an issue if not more of one. Unfortunately though I'll believe it when a spade is in the ground and the smoke and mirrors have cleared.
