Trevor Skempton went to the extreme to show what it would be like if it was done.
Ah. Makes sense. I use extremes to illustrate a basic thing too. Ta

Even if you demolish 40 houses and get rid of the school there's not enough room to build an 80,000 capacity ground.
Surprised he didn't put in plans for a 240,000 seater. Why not.
We go with what we got
Of course there is. There always is. The TV money allows us to make an additional 25m a year so over the next 3 years that's 75m assuming we don't spend any more on transfers and wages than what we are doing currently and given the age and quality of our squad that is feasible. There is currently no other option.

A new stadium would cost approx 200m. 75m would be more than enough to unlock further funding at a reasonable interest level.
WHP is possible but we just have to commit to it and not go along with the flow of teams spending stupid money on wages of average players. It might mean a decade of the footballing equivalent of austerity but it is feasible. Arsenal already have done it and look at them now.

Not a chance mate, we need capital to move on.
We need new owners, new investors or the Board to put a hand in their pockets.
Anything else means we are not keeping pace with our peers.

Surprised he didn't put in plans for a 240,000 seater which had ejector seats for the away fans. Might as well.
If they wired in the button for yours to my seat.
I'd pay good money for that.
And we can't get that without a new stadium. We won't be able to keep pace but we will be able to keep around mid-table until the stadium is built and the extra revenue offsets the repayments but you are right we can't do both. Not a chance mate, we need capital to move on.
