New Everton Stadium

As most likely we'll be selling Stones and Lukaku in the next season or two (out of all our star players these 2 will probably be the most likely to leave) say we sold Stones next season and had £35 mil from the sale and the season after Rom for £35 mil also (hypothetically) assuming we have around £15-20 mil to spend from the current TV deal how much extra is the tv cash next season? And for arguments sake let's say we spent just the stones and Rom money for those 2 seasons could we save up enough cash from not touching those 2x lots of TV cash + stadium naming rights/sponsorship deals + Cash from the council to build us that stadium?

The Board don't want to invest a penny. Looking for a total handout. Forget it. The money from those sales will go towards paying off some debt and player acquisitions.

If Bill (or anyone) can get money from the Council they should be knighted....Council's skint mate

There should be enough money coming into the club for the club to fund a new stadium itself. I suppose that relies on us staying in the premiership though. I suppose it relies on us staying in the premiership though.

It would be criminal not to invest in the clubs future with the levels of money being pumped into football at the moment.

I think it assumes that we have new owners who have injected capital into the club to fund a new stadium and make us a regular top 4/5 club.

On that basis ( new owners ) yea, it's pretty much baseless optimism, but look on it more as a business plan than something that's actually likely to happen.

If you look at the O/S to see how season ticket sales are going then most of the remaining seats are now restricted views. There is certainly some demand there, and a plan to take club back to it's former successes could tap into that. Regular 45,000 crowds growing to 50,000 over time isn't impossible. Unfortunately there's a lack of ambition, and capital, in the club to really take it forward.

Unless the BoD are willing to dilute their holdings in order to finance a new stadium, then we appear to be stuck. I had hoped that wouldn't be the case, and the eternal optimist / complete fool in me still hopes some compromise can be reached on the funding, but, I'm not exactly confident any more.
If a new stadium lead to affordable family season tickets I'd defiantly consider it. I'd love to take the kids each match, but not currently...

In a 50000 plus stadium, Everton's attendances 1984 - 87 reached the dizzying height of 32,000. (Although if you speak to people now, the attendances must have been about 60,000 judging by the number "I was there's.

You and the other chap base your planning on fantastical numbers.
It wasn't really a good point in time for people having money was it really..

Pack of absolute charlatans running this club.

Sad thing is when this issue was first announced, I expected absolutely nothing to come of it. If I could bet on this board being useless and accomplishing nothing over and over again I'd be a rich man.
