New Everton Stadium

You cant rush it mate. Well, you can try, but the process up to now has been dull beyond belief most likely for those working on it.

Planning and more importantly Building regs change, then change again, with a rapidity and frequency that most wouldnt believe. We have nattered in here about safe standing for example, but remember that change that came in about the width or depth of seats?

Then the UEFA rules re being able to be a stadium for them to use? Removal of front rows, different/approved camera angles, and in between, no doubt the provision of VAR capability must be considered which wasnt even an issue when this thread kicked off.

It isnt easy, and it aint quick.
I appreciate all that (as do I appreciate the constant meddling of UNESCO). But we've seen a bonanza of cash flow into Everton in the PL years and we could and should have had a stadium done by now. It goes down to this for me: there's been no realism on the part of the club on any of the three major scheme's its had: KD/DK/BMD. The PA delays for this one I get, but like the others they face huge difficulties in getting passed scrutiny. IMO Everton should long ago have taken the decision to stay at Goodison and piecemeal redevelop. I just dont think we have the political clout or the financial wherewithal to make projects as huge as this happen.

So, let's see what Meis has been working on, but let's also accept that this is an outside chance to materialise.

That effin song gets me every flaming time.
Not just me then...

It's a nice line about dockers; but the reality was that when the club was founded the last thing dockers were arsed about was walking two miles and spending cash they couldn't afford on a game of footy played by a load of Scottish mercenaries.

The early supporters would have been artisan workers, immediate to the ground (Anfield or Goodison) and with a bit of surplus spending power.
