New Everton Stadium

That's all I ever try to do mate. It's heavy weather sometimes, but an alternative has to be put forward by me and others.

I;d suggest that those with a Pollyanna view of the stadium issue and BMD revisit or familiarise themselves with the threads from when Kirkby went tits up in 2009, and they'll realise the extent of betrayal felt back then and why no blue should ever give the benefit of the doubt to the club's owners.

Read the documents bro.

I thought that it would be like Spurs, with bars open in the stadium to stay after the match for drinks / snacks etc but it is implied that this is not the case and if you look at the interior plans I’m not sure there is the space allocated for this. The concourses aren’t that big and they would be needed for fans to safely exit the stadium. I.e. not blocked by people having a pint. I’ve not been to the Spurs new stadium but would be interested to hear how they have set up the post match facilities?

I agree that Sandhills is probably is not configured to currently allow all the fans that want to access the trains that stop there, but it seems a bit short sighted not to include plans / money to solve this..
I totally agree on this point, and you'd hope that Mersey Rail, Mersey Travel and the mayor will be including this as part of their agenda to improve local transport.

For people travelling into town and not beyond, it isn't unrealistic for people to think should I walk fifteen minutes to Sandhills and wait for a train or walk into town?

A train in between the two would help disperse the numbers because north bound would probably walk towards Sandhills, while southbound would go to the other.

However, there is the whole issue of cost versus whether the station would receive enough use on non-match days to merit investment - i.e.g be a viable option.

With regards to Spurs, I mentioned previously (today or yesterday I think) that the NWHL's concourses can already be quite busy, so it is an issue.

‘Kinell Dave, stop living in the past about the damn Kirkby pipe dream and get back to reality, everything up to now has been light years away from that in terms of how professional things have been handled. The fact they’ve taken some much into consideration about preserving the spirit of the dock rather than just haphazardly decimating the area like what would have happened with Tesco proves it

Such a bore.

Different owners now though, surely can't tarnish current owners and board members with the failings of others

By the time the stadium is in place it WILL be town. The 10 streets project will extend the reach of town from its current outskirts down by Malmaison down to Bramley Moore. There is a lot of space around there that could easily be converted into shops/restaurants/bars etc.

Merseytravel would then be best served to put a bus route down Regent Road or something to service the area but most could easily walk into town, stopping off at the new bars etc on the way.

Ha ha. “Those allowing themselves to feel a bit of hope and optimism about the future, should just stop it because 11 years ago....”
