New Everton Stadium

"A socially distance built big new stadium?" Never happening.

One day hopefully very soon, these problems will be behind us and anyway, Everton would correctly say something like "Forget all about the muc needed employment of hundreds of people for 3 years, we ain't spending north of £500 million to gain only around 7,000 seats."

My understanding is it'll be Jenrick who calls it in if he agrees with the heritage groups. LCC can't pass it upwards. If there's no call in, they'll make the decision.
I have posted this before, but I would be absolutely gob-smacked if Jenrick called it in.

Stadium build ticks so many boxes:
-Stimulates local economy during build process (mid-recession)
-Helps the re-generation of a city
-Being built in a political hotspot for a Conservative government trying to claim they are focused on assisting the North.

It would be complete political and economic suicide from the government to roll over to a bunch of half-wits more concerned with a couple of old bits of concrete than the livelihoods and happiness of scores of people in an area of political focus

It won't be called in, LCC will approve it and we will be sitting there in 2023 watching James Rodriguez score the winner for Carlo's FA Cup winning Blues in our first derby at the new Alisher Usmanov Stadium.

Quite embarrassing, how long it is taking Liverpool City Council to evaluate this planning permission.!!

The country has been in lock down for 9 months, jobs are being lost by the thousand's, mental health is suffering and these lot need a year to give the go ahead.
They need to give their heads a wobble.

This is going to be massive for the local economy, jobs, health and feel good factor after the worst year in memory for a lot of people.

Get a move on LCC the whole country is watching and waiting for good news. Ho ho ho, Merry Christmas.

The radio silence on this is very concerning. Where is our local paper demanding information on what will be the biggest boost to the city’s economy?

They’re more worried about reporting on ‘30 things your nan used to say’.

Pathetic rag that it is.
More bothered about live streaming an empty city centre on Facebook when the shops are reopening or what Phil and Holly done on This Morning than anything happening with this, unless it’s anything to do with the red headed step child of the city

Red Echo don’t like positive news stories about Everton. They don’t seem remotely interested in Everton getting a prime location on Liverpool’s world famous waterfront. But if it’s Liverpool’s plans for hole punch Jnr, now we’re talking, or a compo face photo, because of a Kopites Are Gobsh*tes sticker on a birthday cake in Tescos.

Projects of this size will always have some delays, nothing to worry about.

Even without planning permission still plenty of work that needs to be done behind the scenes.

Even if planning permission was granted this week nothing will be done until the new year.
That’s understandable but we’ve already had delays. I think people just want to know if we can expect a decision this month like we have been told.

Since we submitted our application a year ago, we’ve been told:

It’ll be announced in 16 weeks
It’ll be announced early summer
It’ll be announced in Autumn
It’ll be announced in December

You can forgive people being sceptical if the council miss yet another target date.
