New Everton Stadium

No mate, I live in Liverpool and have never voted tory.
Oh, and I lived in Ashton in Makerfield for most of my life ( but born in Liverpool) and have found since I moved to Cheltenham how good a Tory mp can be, and the Lib Dem before him. Pathetic argument Groucho, there's good and bad in all parties, it's just that most people trust others more than Labour.

Have there been a more seismic 4 days in our history?

It feels daft typing that, cos winning leagues and cups trumps getting a win at the pit. But the combo of that win, and PP for a new, dockside ground seems to be pretty important.
Would be great to look back on this week as a watershed, wouldn’t it? It’s bred into all of us not to get carried away, but the future seems exciting from this vantage point.

how was he talking bollocks?! Thought his words were fantastic
Well, for a start, he has no idea where the people from English Heritage are from, how did he know some of them weren’t from Liverpool and why does it matter. What bearing has their place of residence got to do with their professional opinion. If he disagrees with the content of the consultation response then he has the right to pick it apart but he doesn’t have the right to impugn their professional integrity based purely on where they are from.
Councillors are the decision makers, they can disagree with the opinions put in front of them, but their disagreement must be based on material considerations, not on spurious allegations. It would be in no one’s interest for that decision to be judicially reviewed and caught up in the courts for months.
Tub thumping may be popular but that doesn’t make it right. When I look at the case put in front of the Council I can see why they could approve the stadium taking everything in the round.
In Northern Ireland legislation a JR can be taken up to 4 months after a decision is taken, I don’t know if GB is any different but fingers crossed no one will go down that road. I don’t doubt that any barrister could make a case against Joe’s position on EH and even say Joe had a predisposed position prior to the planning committee meeting.
But I finished work for today and I don’t want to think about planning.

I might have misheard but did he also actually say about a multi storey car park for bikes ?

Yes, a multi storey bicycle parking facility. He wants 53,000 places for the 100-200 maximum that will cycle in. Because building that won't be an issue for the environment!

Another great idea is an electric charging point for every car. Like can't they charge up at home before driving to the stadium?

He probably wants the heating to be geothermal piped in from Bath, despite it going cold and needing a shed load of diesel pumps to keep the pressure along the 180 odd miles, but green is green.
