Wow what a last few pages. I’ve been to GP once over from Australia and you can tell it needs replacing. Great stadium but so cramped plus I am sure it would pass on many modern safety standards.

...not so sure on the latter point, I’d be surprised if there aren’t very strict stadium safety criteria over here & even more surprised if Goodison isn’t regularly inspected.

....I imagine it’s dependent on things that are out of the clubs hands, such as the fishing certificate.

USM to the tune of £250m apparently been a done deal for a while, they even paid us 30m to be at the head of a none existant queue.

think it was quoted over ten years yes, sure someone else has heard it on here, more in the know than me.

I'm not sure either but thinking about how big concourses at new stadiums are, which are usually determined by how quick a crowed can egress, and compare that to Goodison then I would think if Goodison had to adhere to rules of new stadium builds it would not pass. It most likely passes due to them using older rules to suit an older stadium.

Is anyone thinking everything is on track with the stadium, we have not had any information for over eight weeks. No fishing permit, no official planning approval and no sign of any financing?
They said that building is planned second half of the year, don't you think we should have had some information by now?

I'd like to see how Goodison compares to Sunderland, Derby, Leicester etc for concourses. I've witnessed overcrowding at all of them except Goodison.

Overcrowding happens at goodison loads tbf.

May partially be down to large groups of fans wanting to escape the seating area so they don't have to see us play perhaps.

The cramped stands is something I'd probably miss about Goodison, not so much the cramped concourse when your shoulder to shoulder having a pint then some scruff has a proper dirty ale fart that makes you sick

I will say this: I'm going to try and get to a game or two at Goodison before it closes. I'm not in the least bit arsed about going to BMD. I can wait to see them in fill in the blank American stadium on a summer tour.

Good luck trying to get a ticket, hence one of the reasons we need to get BMD done!
