New Everton Stadium

How does that in anyway entitle us to anything?

I never said that we are "entitled" to anything.... it was you who inferred that Spurs were entitled to have a very high quality stadium because they were in such a big city compared to Liverpool, which apparently only has the Beatles and Gerry Marsden to shout about and that was all over 60yrs ago. I merely pointed out that Spurs are far from alone in that city and have only won the league twice despite that apparent advantage, and that the last one actually predates both those apparently important pop star references. I also clarified that even mighty Darlington and Derby have managed approx 50% more executive boxes in their stadia than as proposed at BMD, despite both those areas (and clubs) being tiny compared to London and significantly smaller than us. I could've mentioned numerous other small clubs not blessed with our fanbase or the London effect.

You also stated that Moshiri is paying for it all...... he isn't! He is funding the initial phase, which no doubt he will hope to recoup when he sells up. The club will then have to pay back the loans and hopefully the much-fabled naming rights from his mate will meet that debt for the duration of that loan arrangement. We don't yet know exactly how that all works. Hopefully it's not another case of the Mosh's scattergun approach of throwing money at a problem without really addressing it, only to later convert the resultant debt into equity.

Getting to the point where i'd happily puy this on hold for like 5 years just to get the football side of things sorted

Wait 5 years and the window of opportunity could be gone. This stadium isn't a fix all type deal but it will sort the foundations of the club giving us better chances of improving/investment going forward. Do nothing and as Leicester/Wolves etc. build bigger stadiums we will slip further down the list that potential buyers look at.

My point was Spurs are in a more affluent area with a greater number of people. Expecting the same is farcical. Then saying we should have the same because we won the league 35 years ago is not an realistic argument.
As for London, draw the same area over the north west, I’d imagine the team numbers are the same, if not a more competitive group.
IMO the ground is being built and financed due to Moshiri and his connections and the way things are going that will be the major factor in building it.

In 5 years it will cost 1 billion & not long after that fans will ask why Spurs got what they got for 1 billion & we got what we got. In 15 years that gap between ours & thiers wont seem that big & we would feel short changed. Sooner it's done & earning us money the better.

I never said we should expect the same as Spurs or mentioned us winning the league 35yrs ago (34 actually). Yes, Moshiri is pushing the stadium but he is not paying for all of it as you said..... You're reframing your argument.

Relative affluence and metropolitan population size is only part of the equation. London is far bigger and more affluent than Manchester....is any London club bigger than Man Utd or LFC? It's much more to do with size of fanbase, and historically Everton have at least matched Spurs. Which is why Goodison was bigger and better than WHL for the vast majority of their histories. I never said that BMD should have the same number of boxes or corporate as at Spurs, but the quality and volume should be far nearer to that than actually less than so many other much smaller clubs in smaller towns and cities...... especially given the location and more especially given the outlay. I don't believe that expectation is in anyway farcical.

Well let’s agree to disagree.
I don’t feel we should be pushing the ground to be that expensive to run and attend to be comparable with a ground in London - we need to focus on our own situation, aspiration is great but needs to tempered with reality.
Especially the direction we are heading currently.

If you want to get real, Spurs have only won the league twice in their history. They share that big city with over a dozen other clubs and the last time they were champions was before the Beatles or Gerry Marsden had even released a record, and many of their neighbours have won it since..... so I'm not sure of the relevance of that snippet. For further perspective you could also say that even Darlington and Derby have more boxes than the proposed number at BMD.... I'm not sure how those great metropolises compare to our city nowadays.

I'm glad to hear that our benefactor is paying for the lot though.........
If it goes through, the credit will be all Moshiri's - but the Debt will reside with Everton FC - just as it will if it doesn't go through.
