New Everton Stadium

The original plan had an area of water between the stepped area on the river side and the are where the car park was originally planned.

That has now been filled in and compacted so the entire site is now one continuos area. Something has evidently changed along the course of the infill. Could this free up space for extra opportunities in the stadium size itself or other buildings or facilities around it?

Someone mentioned previously mate this will just be re cut and filled with water again. I should imagine though it will be a lot more shallow and more of a feature thing as there'd be no point filling it 10 metres deep with water

Edit - completely ignore me as I can see someone else has already responded.

That channel is only a couple of meters deep, it will be dug out after the stadium has been completed. Else you would be working around a hole in the ground which would make it more difficult for the builders.
Yes, much improved construction logistics, much better compaction and will be easier for construction of a new retaining wall at that end before reopening the channel.

These pictures are from a few days ago and show the very first above-ground part of the stadium emerging. Another milestone.
