I was on a Wolves forum before reading about their ownership turmoil. The fact that their stadium and football club are two separate entities was being referred to in a negative fashion, that it could make them less attractive to a potential new owner for some reason?

I'm guessing that our setup is similar, that Everton and the new stadium are going to be two separate entities? I imagine that there will be some benefits to such a set up, but also some negatives. Ultimately, Everton might not even own their new ground?

Is it? Genuinely, I've not read anything as such to suggest this was the case.
It's not.

The lease for the land is with Everton Football Club. The Stadium will be owned by Everton football Club.

There was some speculation that if an investor wanted to come in to help complete the build, they may want to seperate the stadium from the club.

I doubt the agreement with Peel would allow that without a load of legal gymnastics. (plus it doesn't really make any sense for our current owner to seperate the stadium from the club, right now, despite continuing the throw loads of money into a dock and footballs pockets, he holds all that cards provided he keeps his nerve.)

The thought of not owning our own ground sends shivers and immediately reminds me of how Coventry City could go from owning and playing at Highfield Road for 106 years (34 years in the top flight) to a new stadium and end up being homeless and ground sharing in the lower divisions.

I shared this fear, but it’s been clarified above that Everton are due to own the stadium and it won’t be two separate entities, which sounds good to me.

I just remembered talk about ‘Special Purchase Vehicles’ etc, but that was back when we were trying to get the council to fund it, I think.

Thanks for posting. I posted a couple of pages back about the amount of steel columns underneath the south stand. The photos showing the stand in profile explain it to me now. The only columns that will be there permanently are the ones at 11/12 o'clock. The ones at 1/2 o'clock are temporary. I think that's it, isn't it?
Yes.
All the ones going left to right are temporary
