I'm normally the first person to dismiss conspiracy theories but when you consider that normally the media are only too quick to disrespect us for our football performances, they seem to be in an indecent haste to stir the pot over this.

Yes but in this case the choice is to get out of Everton taking a massive loss or pump in the money required to get a return when the stadium is built. They'll look at the whole picture and decide what is the most cost effective way to do that.
