New Everton Stadium

So how would you get there from west derby, Norris green, Tuebrook? Either a bus and a massive walk or take the car with nowhere to park it. This place is not even on the transport map. Looks great thoughđź‘Ť
I think you make a very good point. It's travelling to the new ground from the north east of the city and beyond that's the biggest problem.

From the north (Kirkdale, Bootle, Crosby all the way out to Southport) you've already got trains and buses that drop you not too far away.

Anybody from south Liverpool and beyond or the Wirral, Cheshire and north Wales just has to get into the city centre, where hopefully there will be shuttle buses from various points directly to the ground.

Doesn't make much sense for those heading from the north east to go past the new ground to go to town and then back again. There is no railway in those areas you mentioned, of course.

Could be a good case for special buses directly to the new ground from those areas.

Perhaps a shuttle bus running up and down Boundary Street from the Rotunda would euseful. Loads of buses stop on Scotland Road, Great Homer St etc

Ahh it's just heavy init. Can't wait to be sat in it freezing my bollocks off because of the Mersey wind.
Fantastic video thanks for posting. The dock channel that runs parallel to the river has been filled in temporary to aid construction but does it really have to be re-opened ? It would release a lot more space . After all ,there are river entrances either side of BMD . Just asking like .
Not sure how much more space you want tbh. Think about our main stand now and the only outdoor space is goodison road. Triple that at least then a canal and then a massive car park. Outside bullens road, you have, well bullens road. Look at all that space in the new fanzone too 🤷🏻‍♂️
Don’t forget the quadruple size space within all four sides of the new stadium 🙏

Ask the same question for goodison park or anfield now and maybe compare.

I honestly think Goodison is bang in the centre for transport links, with major roads on it's doorstep pointing North,South,East and West plus plenty of on street parking within a mile or so of the ground.

People just won't stop using their cars to get to BMD, it'll be hell for fans on the outskirts of the city to get there without one. Everything is double yellowed too. You have to break the law to park up and take a quick pick of BMD lol

I remember the old Sunday heritage market opposite back in the day, no yellows then but still a pain to get to and park up with just a few hundred people there.
I think it's a major issue as it stands now and transport infrastructure really does need to be addressed pronto.

So many firms with carparks around bmd... It'll be fine although they will all expect payment of course

When I used the bus to GP it was 3 different ones and no option for train, I think buses, trains and ferries go to city centre from all areas. Not forgetting a road and tunnel infrastructure designed to get people into the city from all areas.

Think it makes more sense to add a station between Sandhills and Mooorfields not only for the stadium but also the ten streets project.

No option for train? Kirkdale is as close to GP as Sandhills is to BMD. It also has more platform space.

Perhaps, but there are fewer roads supporting those potential parking spaces.

The onus at BMD has always been for a massive modal shift to public transport, because the site cannot support the same influx of cars as GP (with routes leading in all directions).... that's a logistical constant for any waterfront site. Originally, the club said the current ratio of public to private transport would have to be at least reversed. The leverage for that is proximity to town and all its major transport hubs and services. At 1 mile from the Liver bldgs, it is probably just at the end of that "convenient walking" distance envelope.... it's a shame that the main bus terminus isn't still at the Pier head instead of over half a mile further south. Shuttle buses to the centre will be essential, and their routes to and from town will need to be clear for them to be effective.... which won't be possible if the few (already busy) routes are gridlocked by cars. The northern line is a great asset for the site but probably needs a station at Vauxhall to split north/south passengers and increase platform space to ease movement and marshaling. Even then though, its capacity is only approx 5-6k /hr in each direction, with limited direct journey catchment for the bulk of the Liverpool conurbation, as the vast majority of citizens don't live anywhere near a merseyrail station. When the football research unit looked at access/egress at all grounds over 20yrs ago GP had one of the best dispersal rates, with multiple bus routes serving it very close by.... sitting on the confluence of several major arterial and cross city routes and near the inner ring road of Queens drive.... so it is essential that BMD's links to the city centre transport hubs are fully and efficiently utilised for this to at least match that experience.

I recall reading that when the Kirby project was proposed it suggested 30% of fans will cycle to the ground, I think bill had entrusted the plans to a Dutch company 🤷🏻‍♂️
