too small to put a football pitch in
Literally the reason Anfield lost out.
Anfield's pitch is too short to host major tournament matches.
Liverpool pitch 'rules out Anfield' from Euro 2028 games due to UEFA rules
England and the home nations have lodged a bid to host Euro 2028 but, if successful, Anfield will not host any matches due to the pitch size at Liverpool's stadiumwww.mirror.co.uk

I think it’s something to do with the area between the edge of the playing pitch and the hoardings, rather than the actual pitch dimensions themselves. Remember reading something about it earlier in the year. I’ll post it if I can remember where it was!Sure this isn't some PR spin?
I'm sure I read Villa Park has the same size pitch as Anfield.
[Edit] Maybe not. January last year. No idea how accurate it is, mind;

I'm sure if it was delayed, Everton would communicate this. They're always so open and quick to communicate with fans.Everton Stadium Part Of UK And Ireland Euro 2028 Bid
Latest news from Everton Football Clubwww.evertonfc.com
I know this has been reported elsewhere, but the official narrative has also now changed from before the 2024/25 season to during?
"Construction of Everton Stadium, which will be one of the most inclusive and sustainable stadiums in the country, is due to be completed during the 2024/25 season."
The capacity of BMD has always been stated as 52,888 so why is it on the list above as 52,679 ? Where's the missing 209 seats Bill ?
Not to mention how the segregation may be done as well.Likely due to increased media etc at a tournament game
Old trafford is a dump these days. Apparantly they need to spend 1 billion on redevelopment and the glazers still trying to get 6 billion for the club...It was selected ahead of Anfield but not the others
