New Everton Stadium

I'll admit that until this morning I didn't realise that the Open is being held at Hoylake next week.
I remember the last time it was held there, on more then one occasion the tv cameras on the telescopic platforms panned along the Liverpool waterfront.
Knowing the BBC they will point out that on the skyline you will be able to see the Pit.
So can I expect them to mention that the construction project on the waterfront is our new ground, a venue for the Euros in 2028 should we win the bid.

Does anyone know of any plans for there to be a ferry terminal or anything like that?

I know there was talk of water taxis etc. at one point going from Seacombe through town and onto BMD. Would be a great way up get to the match IMO.
Just wouldn't be cost effective to build a new terminal at BMD.

The pier head terminal isn't too far really, the new Isle of Man ferry terminal is slightly closer, should be open in 2024, normal ferries may be able to dock there.

True about the cost, but what about the value. Image it. It would mean the stadium is a location every day of the year. Not to mention the boost it would give to the Ten Streets.

No need to build a terminal. Wouldn't have to be more than a couple of million to knock something together. Doesn't need more than a gangplank and a few old aircraft tyres.

Sorry to labour the point, but that information I have posted could hardly have come from a better placed source regards the build and its timescale. That's all I can say.

I used to work with Laing's for a number of years, it will be the same info I've been given.

Trust me, most major projects are never delivered on time and with the current supply chain having delays this build will come into some bother.
