it will be a balance between being deep enough that idiots dont hit the bottom if they jump in, but no so deep that the water will be dangerously cold all year round if someone does end up in there.

…I thought I noticed a gradient on the far side, a bit like into a children’s swimming pool making it easy to walk out of.

It will likely be the same depth as Princes dock, which is 2m depth.
