New Everton Stadium

There were a few things that lead to the decrease in the south stand, one was the tall buildings SRF, another was cost. To allow the larger south stand the roof line was higher at the southern end meaning the entire roof was on a slant. That also meant that every single roof truss was different. That increased engineering challenges and costs immensely.
Is that relevant to the choice of having a super riser rather than not having one?

Or Is that to do with us losing 8 rows? If so, that is another moan of mine. It was said before the super riser is at least 1800 mm, so that's worth the height of 5 or 6 risers I reckon? Length of footprint would be the issue then rather than height I would have thought?

all going well I should have my first video up in over a week today, had a mini heart attack and been in hospital a week. gave the family a bit of a scare 😀 but can wait to get down there today
Loved the matter of fact way you stated that almost as if you had farted and followed through and not suffered a heart attack.

Seriously though my son get well soon and can't wait to see the new vid.

God bless.

Another thing. How can they even consider option 2 and 3, when option 1 was so good?

When the initial plans were released absolutely no one said it would be better if they split that stand in two and only gave half a Blue Wall. Yet Everton, being Everton, manage to do what Everton does best and interfere and make things worse.

I know everyone is excited and wants to let things go and overlook things, but that was not a good decision.
The first design is all seated, and the club wanted to implement a standing section, which needs to have a riser behind, or else the people sitting behind the standing section in the first few rows wouldn't see the pitch. Not sure what the regulations are, but I would have made the whole stand standing if possible, which would have taken out the riser a la the first design.

The super riser is to split seated from standing.
The seated rows can be a steeper incline bringing a closer, more intimate feel. If everybody is stood, the riser will be barely visible if at all.

Well working down through the docks starting at Seaforth, there is no suitable land area other than Trafalgar, it beats me therefore what other dock could be under consideration.

All those northern docks mentioned are still working docks with very little land attached to them. I do not believe for one minute there could be any consideration of filling a dock in!

Mods, I did not enter this post ! Someone is getting mixed up, please look into it.

In yesterday's echo, it had 10 images from the stadium with a couple of the elevators.

Now, I've never been one to get too over excited about an elevator but the lighting on them looked quality. Just really modern and sleek. Don't think the images have been released anywhere else so well worth a look if you wanted to see a couple of the new internal pics of the elevators.

To reassure, this isn't an Everton thing, both the yellow wall at Dortmund and our single tier stand have a super-riser at the point the gradient changes. It's a pretty standard solution in this kind of design.

As others have said, you won't notice it when the stand is full.

From Seaforth Dock just now
