New Everton Stadium

Can only admire the sheer gall of talking down to a world leading expert on his own field of expertise.
“With respect Dan….” What a nerve. The man (who has already written himself into the clubs history and helped shape its future) was literally party to all of the discussions and calculations and he’s being told he’s wrong.

Any sentence starting with “With respect Dan….” really means “brace yourself Dan, I’m about to completely drench you in my suspiciously sticky condescension and pomposity, and I will do it again even after you have made me look stupid.”

Is it unusual that the pitch is seeded rather than turfed? Not complaining as they clearly know what they're doing. The stadium looks amazing.
I think it is quite normal to be grown from seed but not normally on site as they only have a couple of months normally from close season to season start so it is grown elsewhere. I played some games at Harper Adams Agricultural college in pre season games where they train groundsmen and the pitches were fantastic. they then cut them out and move them to the grounds

Ah thanks, that makes sense.

I’m no expert but as we are going into winter surely that would have an impact on growth? I know I don’t need to cut the grass in the garden during winter for example as it doesn’t grow

Your grass doesn't grow in winter because it doesn't have heat for germination, (sorted by heated subsoil), and doesn't have sufficient sunlight for photosynthesis, (sorted by growlights).
