New Everton Stadium

Just been asked by TNT Sports to do a segment that'll be on before the Merseyside Derby talking about Goodison Park and specific derby day memories.

Be arsed with that. Id be like;

I genuinly think other fans have better momories as a visiting team, than we do.

United lifted the title here.

The RS had many many many victories here.

Even Bolton fans have one their best every memories at the place, Tranmere too.

I just remember fume, anger, tears and booing.

Its so sad, but for all the other reasons people have posted about times with kids, dads, uncles, grandads - I also have those too.

My post has actually prompted some class posts from people about memories, do we have a thread for all those types ??

Great read, and so spark the good abot the place ad what we have been through with family n mates.

Saw this on Bluesky - definitely looking blue!

Can't seem to embed Bluesky posts as media yet - given its new-found popularity with blues, maybe one for the tech to-do pile, @GrandOldTeam ?

For me, Goodison holds me no bad memories at all. It's the teams that have let the stadium down, not the stadium. We've been in managed decline for over 30 years and I desperately hope the new stadium brings in the kind of revenue which helps us get back to some kind of normality and possible success.

I won't forgive the countless under performing overpaid wastes of space that have made my eyes bleed, the catastrophic board decisions and managerial appointments that have sent us to the brink more times than I care to remember

I'll never forget the stadium though, that's always been the one positive in an otherwise continuous shitshow that is Everton.

For every painful defeat (and there's been too many), I've got 10 more positive memories in the bank that outweigh that defeat. I'll be gutted to leave though I know it's the right thing to do.

But please remember, Goodison isn't a curse and never has been. She's kept us up against all the odds time and again because she drags us as fans together to create an unstoppable force that has dragged utter tripe over the line time after time after time again.

She deserves our gratitude, our respect, our never ending love.

Those entrance columns could do with a good weeding

Surely some state of the art projection equipment could put up a big blue Everton sign on the glass facade of the north and south stands. You could have five minutes in every hour where it could be changed to Toyota or whoever the stadium sponsors are ?

Think that's the plan for the South Stand anyway going by the original videos released of the stadium project
