Long overdue. Will be some sadness but football and the atmosphere in all grounds is crap now so, whatever. What's the general concensus on moving out of Goodison, mixed feelings I imagine?
I think people don't like leaving something that is so much part of the fabric of the club. What's the general concensus on moving out of Goodison, mixed feelings I imagine?
From these numbers is it fair to assume we might get an extra 5000 season tickets? My understanding is that these are the seats available for General Sale and Season tickets. So the overall count will exclude the away section and corporate.
A rough estimate is that it'll be 29,502 + 13,000 in the South stand (42,502).
So that'll be 52,888 - 42,502 = 10,386 remaining (3k of which is away section), so approx. 7,386 corporate/premium seating.
It’s long overdue and the Kings Dock could have been had nearly 20 years ago which was a massive mistake by Kenwright and the board. What's the general concensus on moving out of Goodison, mixed feelings I imagine?
All seater stadiums have a subdued atmosphere unfortunately. You're moving from a ground full of memories and will evoke nostalgia when you're sat there in your new state of the art stadium. I've been to Goodison several times and it's not an aesthetically pleasing ground(neither was Maine Road) but it's your spiritual football home which most of you will miss. Been 22 years since we left Maine Road but I sure miss the place, the 'Emptyhad' is modern but in my mind it still feels like it's a temporary stadium till we move back to Moss Side. That will never happen but Mr memories are still etched in my mind, some good memories and some I'd rather not think of.Long overdue. Absolutely agree. Your new stadium will help attract richer owners, higher advertising revenue and perhaps help attract players too.I think people don't like leaving something that is so much part of the fabric of the club.
However, just about everyone realises that if the club is ever to move forward a new ground with increased earning capacity was absolutely essential.
True but have needed this move for years now. Also have had good memories but for the last couple of years has been awful. I kno for me just want a change and a fresh start with the stadium move, players out of contract and the takeover. Thats what the new stadium is for me hope we can get this club back to what all us fans want,All seater stadiums have a subdued atmosphere unfortunately. I hope moving helps you get back to winning ways and I don't begrudge seeing Everton picking up trophies. Much prefer to see you succesful rather than Liverpool.True but have needed this move for years now. Also have had good memories but for the last couple of years has been awful. That wasn't my point mate. You just seemed more eloquent back then.
Yeah not going to fix everything straight away but hopefully we can take advantage of it. Plus think alot of fans hapoy with the looks of the stadium is just the capacity that is the problem. I kno west ham fans in a stadium not one that was built with football being the priority. Not sure what you city fans think about Etihad StadiumI hope moving helps you get back to winning ways and I don't begrudge seeing Everton picking up trophies. To be fair, the atmosphere in goodison has been crap for years. It's just the way football has gone. The only fans you hear are the away fans (except Fulham. Their fans were crap when we played them). It's the same at all grounds. All seater stadiums have a subdued atmosphere unfortunately. Don't forget for anybody under 40 there have genuinely been no good memories (in terms of success) at Goodison apart from sporadic victories over Liverpool which meant absolutely nothing in the grand scheme of things. What's the general concensus on moving out of Goodison, mixed feelings I imagine?
