New Everton Stadium

I agree it will sell out.

But id not necessarily want to pay £1200 for those seats. The £10 credit & program is a nice touch, but it isn’t something I’d need or miss.

I’m a season ticket holder but have to make a 500 mile round trip for every home game, so other travelling expenses unfortunately come into play for me.

If I was local, I’d could see the appeal of £1200.

Hi mate it's amazing you travel so far to watch the blues but you need to accept the price increase for a modern stadium with world class facilities. Don't want the extra benefits then don't pay it.

So we can agree that it was a sensationalist tool to get the main message across then? The spin or any fallout of a blunt slogan at stages overtook the message on a surface level.

It's separate from the cause which was valid. But it was a similar propaganda tool such as "Ban the Small Boats" to use a crude recent "movement" to summarise a wider issue. Created a division but I get it.

Again, while the group were correct and won the fight, I personally always felt its branding created more hostility in the fanbase (shouts of long term season ticket holders say they'd never go to it, "City is ours" etc)

So the main point of "Kirkby as a destination was never the issue" wasn't entirely true, which is what I said.

The name was arrived it in mins. No greater thought was given to it than that reslly. I don't remember any divide on it at all... we certainly weren't inundated with protests by Kirkby Evertonians, nor was it evident on any forums, far from it in fact.

Kirkby wasn't and still isn't in the city, so it was entirely factual and therefore by definition, not at all sensationalist or propagandist which implies a lie. There was a real potential threat to perception and identity and resultant marginalisation with any move to the peripheries, inside or beyond the city borders.... but the real issues were that the project was fundamentally flawed on multiple levels and that the whole motivation and process was entirely corrupt. All long since proven.

Last time I went down. I had a quick wee then queued for a drink. The second half kicked off and I went back to my seat and I remember thinking the money they must lose by people like myself doing this all the time is crazy.
I am sure they will want to squeeze every penny out of us on match day
But need good facilities to do that, the new stadium will have that…

I just remember fans at each others throats about it.

In comparison to now where it's about the football on the pitch.

It's taken about 18 years for another ground move to actually happen since.

Kenwright and his cronnies nurtured and pushed the divide and conquer policy throughout. That was his entire MO before and after his take over. You do know he actually part-funded the Goodison For Everton group when Johnson was in charge (and he was on the board). He played that game throught his whole tenure. So any divides were nothing whatsoever to do with efforts to Keep Everton IN Our City and certainly nothing to do with Kirkby's scouseness.

My best mate is a spurs fan, I asked him whether it's quick to get a pint at half time, he said "no despite it having about 7000 bars"...let's hope BMD is better 😀

Just having a mess around on the Virtual Venue and I notice they have not yet updated it to show the prices for each section. Bit disappointing seeing as how the prices were released yesterday. That said, it is a brilliant.

Anybody else tried to figure out how many seats there are in the Club View section? I reckon the section is about 32 rows deep and just short of 100 rows wide. About 3,000 seats. Does that sound about right?

On the virtual venue there’s no seat numbers, an it doesn’t specifying row lettering, how will you be able to pick your exact seats, or is it just a case of being only able to choose the stadium section, then the club allocates the specific seat location.
