New Everton Stadium

First time poster! Can't help but feel this is a huge moment for the club. Sadly you usually find you have to compromise somewhere in these situations. I think the majority would agree the ideal scenario is a 55-60k seat purpose built football stadium in a docks location but if you had to compromise somewhere which of the below options would you go for? I would go for A. I think a slightly bigger version of a Juventus style stadium on the docks would be perfect for us.

A) A 45-50k purpose built football stadium on the Docks
B) A 55-60k purpose built football stadium in Stonebridge
C) A 55-60K stadium on the Docks that would have a compromised design to cater for the Commonwealth games but would be heavily subsidised by the council
We need to be looking at a minimum 55k stadium otherwise we will fail to deliver the full commercial potential of the club. Ticket sales this year has shown that we can't consider anything less than at least a starting point of 50k with easy scalability when required.

I think the council's contribution will be in re-routing roads etc rather than subsidising the actual build. A new stadium at the docks would ultimately extend the city centre to there once the bars and restaurants move in so there are clear benefits for the council as well as Everton.

Peel will get top dollar for their site and as explained above, regeneration of the surrounding area at no cost to themselves.

Things really seem to be falling into place here.

We've been compromising for several decades now and look where it has got us...

61,878 capacity (2nd largest in the league) on the docks please. Nil satis nisi optimum. Bout time we started living up to our motto.

I really don't see how a football stadium on an outlying dock, which is used once every 2 weeks for 9 months, would attract bars and restaurants to set up there. More likely some greasy spoon popups once a fortnight!

Think you need to consider what is around Goodison and Anfield, at least on the docks it is just a short train ride into the city.

It will be used for concerts and other events, it will be the place to stage the larger shows that the Echo isn't big enough to accommodate.

The docks location would also make it very accessible for tourists to view it along with all the other city centre attractions. Other ambitious businesses will always be looking a piece of that market.

This should be shelved until we get some players in and a winning team.

Arsenal being a point in case.
The whole point of the stadium is to put us in a position where we can invest in the playing side year on year without having to sell our key stars. The stadium is the only thing that can make this happen for us. No investor will come in to solely buy us new players, there is no return on investment in that.
