New Everton Stadium

Just watched the latest video of the ground, as much as a wrench it will be to leave goodison having gone there since I was a boy I am excited for the future. This ground is something to be genuinely excited about, and we’ve not had much to be happy about for a very long time.

I hope we get it right off the pitch and start to build on it, because what a beautiful pitch it’s going to be.

For everyone worrying about transport, what will be will be. We will all get there cause we always have and we will all get home as we always have just hope it’s after watching Everton win in what is one of if not the most iconic and unique stadiums in the country.

Sorry to be a pain in the rear, but having a world class stadium and having decent public transport to get there are not mutually exclusive things. Call me what you want, but I'd like to think we can have both. Is it too much to ask for?

I’m not calling you a thing, you’re entitled to your opinion as much as the next person. I am just excited about playing there, I believe these things will work themselves out for me it’s just about going the game. Some will drive, some will get the train, some will get the bus and some will walk as they live close enough just as it it now.

My post was simply about looking forward to playing football in that stadium.

You won't find a bigger advocate of the new stadium than me. It's virtually perfect, in my eyes.

It’s going to take quite a while for peoples matchday routines to settle, from the transport options to choosing where to eat & drink either in or outside the stadium. Then even getting used to the people standing/sitting near you. It’ll all be different and everyone just needs to be patient and embrace the change.

But that doesn’t excuse the likes of Stagecoach who used to run a relatively reliable bus service from Goodison back to the City Centre but in the last year or so it’s gone to pot a bit. Poor queuing organisation and not enough buses for the demand. If they think that will be acceptable for the new stadium they’ll need a rethink.

Those that are used to parking for free only 5-10 minutes walk from Goodison will be in for a bit of a shock/upset when they find everything within a 30min radius is permit zones. So lots of usual habits will have to change. If you’re a resident in that area you could be quids in on a matchday selling off private spaces & visitor permits!

A brisk walk from Dale Street (ship & mitre end) to Bramley Moore is around 30 minutes (Google maps always say a bit longer). Ideally need some new bars around half way to break up the journey!

Sad really that the stadium has to have a sponsors name. I rather like BMD

Mind you, Spurs can’t seem to get a sponsor as Levy is being too greedy seeking £25m/year

Just logged on to see 13 new pages - Any actual content or just rain and transport circular arguments?

I just think cos the progress has slowed down there’s less to talk about positively with the build so now it’s become about potential issues

Progress hasn't slowed down, you just can't get drone footage for the work happening internally:)
I'm sure we'll start seeing photos of the bars etc soon enough

You and any other fan can call it whatever you please, thats the beauty of it. But for 20m a year, which is a +1 good player EVERY summer transfer window, you can let someone else call it what they want.
